This should be a good fight! Caperello has been stopped by a prime Kovalev and lost a ud to chilemba It’s a good step up imo I see they’ve not given persoon the Taylor rematch on this card
Good step up fight by Buasti, however WBA title eliminator? He's not ready for Bivol yet. I think it would be a good idea if Buasti wins , to put him against Pascal first then look to make the Bivol fight.
Personally he needs a lot longer before taking on any of the Lt Heavy Champions . Pascal is a big jump in class and risky , Bivol in the next year then I would seriously question Matchrooms ability to develop fighters.
Buatsi can probably wait a year or longer as mandatory. I wouldn't worry about that. I think the fight is decent. At some point he will have to step up. This division is unbelievable for talent. I'm sure buatsi will end his career with a few defeats so no point missing chances to try and become the best in the division.
I was wondering why buatsi hasn’t gone down the ebu belt, Just looked at the rankings and buatsi is #6 Boesel holds the title and his mandatory is igor mikhalkain and then I remembered about the ibo champ Sven fornling who I think buatsi could beat but he’s injured and mikhalkain has just won an interim ibo belt so he is now mandatory for ebu and ibo Not sure he beats boesel or fornling at this stage but good fights to have
It’s just an eliminator not a final eliminator if I’m right? Good fight anyway. Just to add. When he vacated the British last week he said it was because he wanted to step up. I worried that it would be an anticlimax once a fight was announced but I’m happy with this.
Should be a very good fight, great yardstick and learning fight. Caperello has some decent/good wins on his record and has shown he is fringe world level/world level.
These are the sort of fights Yarde needed to have before going in with one of the champs. Bautsi will properly learn as much in this fight as all his other pro fights combined.
Although he dropped Dirrell, Caparello can't punch, so it's fairly safe (but there's rarely such a thing in boxing)
Is it Matchrooms job to develop a fighter? Is that not the trainers job and Matchroom just find them fights and promote them?
