It's a bit of a shame though that even on a site like this the promotion was so feeble that some people just didn't even know it was happening.
A proper decent card too. Foster Vs Reid Spellman vs Pitters and Davies vs Chelli. Got to be honest though they dont market these shows very well I didnt even have a clue it was on till last weeks boxing news arrived.
I think that may be because the bulk of the promotional efforts were directed at the later ppv offering, Fury v wallin. This card was really there as a lead in in my view. You don't put a headliner on, because Fury is the headliner. The york hall card is the 'free' boxing, which is on in the pub whetting the appetite for a purchase. As it turned out it was probably as enjoyable a nights boxing as I've seen in this otherwise slightly disappointing year.
Boxing on BT is going to be hurt by the fact that the evening kick off games are now on sky sports not BT. If it was following the football it'd of got a decent amount from that alone. Their next warren card is on a Friday night. They clearly are trying different things.
Someone saying something negative towards frank warren made you feel so insecure that you had to criticise matchroom #rentfree
Those figures would be in line with what a sports subscription channel would expect for that type of content. If it was on terrestrial TV (the main five channels) then those numbers would be awful.
I didn't know Gill was on the card until I saw him weighing in on my IG feed. Apparently Eggington is on the card too. Under normal circumstances I'd be all over watching this but Rangers are playing tonight. The views will definitely suffer tonight with a fair few English and Scottish clubs playing in the Europa League.
