Spence is too big for Pacquiao, so why not fight Crawford? It would be a passing of the torch fight for Pacquiao and Crawford. Who wins?
I would favor Bud but I don't understand the "Crawford wrecks him" crowd. Based on what? Pac just beat Thurman, who is significantly better than anyone Crawford has faced at WW. Sure, Horn "beat" Pac and lost to Crawford, but I hardly see that meaning anything if they face each other. Pac would hit him and make it an interesting fight. It would be a massive jump in skill regarding Crawford's opposition. While Manny has seen everything.
I am going to say this would be 55-45 or 60-40 in favor of Bud. If Manny opened as a large dog, I would put some loot down on him, but this is far from a mismatch. Manny still has a lot in the tank, and Bud (while being very very good) has not proved himself on that level.
I rate Crawford very highly, easy win for Crawford at this stage of pacquiao's career. Crawford should fight Spence. Pac should fight Khan.
Has Pac fought a switching hit mover like Crawford? There's a 9" reach advantage for Bud that he knows how to use. He stays sharp. Clear victory for Crawford IMO.
If it's Manny of 5 years ago, I'd say Pac wins. But now, hard to tell. My heart want Pac to win, but my head says it's Crawford.
I think Crawford should win. He has a patient style, some serious skills and much more youth on his side. However, you can never write Manny off! The guy is a phenom and has proved me wrong so many times before. I have always been a Floyd fan first and always fancied him to beat Manny, due to their respective styles. But as time passes and seeing what Manny is still doing at 40, I think he may go down as the greatest boxer in this generation and one of the very best ever. His fight with Thurman was phenomenal and I think he done enough to edge the decision. I would have to make Crawford favourite, but Manny will be very competitive. This would actually be a good fight for Pacquiao to bow out on, win or lose. Floyd isn't coming back, so where else can he go? Maybe Spence, but Manny has nothing more to prove. I would hate to see him continue and get destroyed by a complete nobody.
I'd go Crawford narrowly on points. Manny would of course have his moments but can't see him winning enough rounds over 12 against Crawford. Would be an interesting fight and one of the genuine 50/50 fights that could be made. For anyone who says it wouldn't be a 50/50 watch Pacman against Thurman over and over again until you see he has still got it. Also, Crawford has not always been at this weight, I remember him being undisputed the division below not too long ago. The whole Horn situation for Bud beat him and Pac didn't .. it was an off-night for Pac and even at that, it was close. I had Manny winning that one.
Too much reach advantage for Crawford, and the guy walks at over 170lbs. The more reach disadvantage you have, the more athletic you need to be to make up for it. Pacquiao at this age no longer has the gas tank.
Crawford vs Pacman I would say is 50/50 or 60/40 for Terrance" Bud " Crawford. A potential Classic!!!!!
Agreed with the caveat that Manny is at the stage of his career that he could come apart at any given moment in which case Crawford would get talked down because he beat up a faded legend. A part time boxer. A Senator and servant of the people. Saint Pacman. I can hear it all now.
I think it's a war and I think someone gets knocked out. I think this is actually the most exciting fight at ww rn. I know spence bud is the one ppl want but I think that fight is more likely to be a dud. I think manny will corner bud and they will slug it out until someone drops. Based on his age and the fact that he's been sparked out before, I think bud by ko in a war.
