There is a lot of hate from most Golovkin fans towards Canelo which is understandable. Although as a GGG fan how could you not want Canelo to succeed?? It only makes GGG look better! Most Canelo fans don't give GGG enough credit and Canelo fans don't give GGG any credit.

If Canelo goes in there and handles business against Kovalev then that only proves the sparring myths of Gennady Golovkin.

Canelos legacy varries so much because theres such a wide array of perspectives on the fights hes had.

Someone like me, who only has him losing the Mayweather and Golovkin 1 fights, will have a different view of his legacy than someone who had him losing many out of lara, trout, cotto, jacobs, mayweather and both G fights (which believe it or not theres many people that think he lost most of those fights)

He has so many controversial outcomes that it has created huge differences in how he is seen and how his legacy is weighed.

It doesn't matter how it makes Golovkin look, that isn't the point of it all.

You have to earn you wins, your succes and in a legit way.

You put a different spin on things. I think he only loss to Lara, Mayweather and GGG 1, GGG 2 could be a draw or go to either fighter.

I'll give Canelo his props, he earned the last GGG fight. He came to fight.

It’ll look good on paper but not too many, of those who saw how things played out, will say he has earned the place amongst greats.

But you also need to win, not just show up with your judges prepaid.

If they rewatched every fight from unanimously considered ATG's and studied the top 10's at the time month to month and who they fought and didn't fight, your modern fan would have their world collapse inward on itself from how many were "could have gone to either fighter" fights, "majority scored it against them" fights, and how often they fought lesser fighters than those available. The modern fan is impossible to please.

Canelo is already among the few best boxers of the 2010's decade. Can't really do too much more.

There's a lot to that, but we can't do much more about that now. Their legacy has already been written and sometimes overrated due to undeserved decisions and other practises. Unlike this era where everything is under a magnifying glass.

That's why I never was on the "I'm the greatest" bandwagon, because some of the first fights I saw from him was both the Norton and Frazier trilogies... after seeing those, I was really confused you might imagine.

But he is among the best of the decade for sure, but I really dislike favoritism in any way. And for that he's the posterboy.

The fact all 3 judges didn't give the Mayweather-Canelo fight to Mayweather tells you all you need to know. That was a schooling if I ever saw one.

Like Mayweather, Canelo has the talent to be great & he can fight BUT Where he went wrong was getting involved with one of boxing's biggest boils on its ass Oscar Fishnets.
He learned that he didnt need to use his talents to "win" fights
All he had to do was be standing at the final bell & he was guaranteed not to lose. He is the NSAC cash cow , theyre not going to let him lose. Thats been proven time & time again Corruption at its finest!!
But both Canelo & Floyd will suffer by having too many dark clouds over their resumes. Ludicrous judging scores favoring them. Blatant peds abuse & illegal IV,s all will help tarnish their resumes They will, & should be, remembered for their blatant cheating
Yes Oscar & the NSAC have made Canelo a very rich man & lined their own pockets too but they have also destroyed their chances of being a true ATG,s like Ali, Robinson & the other greats of the sport. I hope they think it was worth it

I have him losing to Lara, Mayweather, and GGGx2.
I have to rewatch Jacobs, saw it live and was just enjoying myself.

I think Canelo has been very lucky in his career, and his lack of rematches speaks volumes imo.
