Ruby Rob, who cracked the body of gentleman Jim.
Gene Tunney of the second Dempsey fight.
Could Fitz find the magic shot to beat Gene as he did Corbett?
    Or a whitewash for Tunney?

    This one's set at 15.

Tunney had right style to beat Fitz, he was also very strong when he bulked up and Bob had problems with Corbett strength in clinches.

That said, Tunney's chin is not proven against such a powerful hitter. Fitz could always find oppenings and I'm not convinced that Tunney would be able to take it.

It's a tough one. I'd probably favour Tunney at that stage, I think he could do enough damage to stop Fitz before Fitz could catch up to him.

Tunney wide UD, Corbett was thoroughly outboxing him and Tunney is an upgraded Corbett

    Was being the key word.

Fitz did better as it went on and knocked him out.

I'd have thought it may be Fitz that was the physically stronger in there or at least on a level with Corbett. His years as a blacksmith would have given him strength and that Power in his punches.

Corbett did better in the clinches, he was skilled clincher while Fitz didn't like inside fighting.

I think I’d go with Tunney here.
I think he’s more advanced than Fitz, and his movement, angles and sheer skill level would be a problem for Fitz.
Having said that Fitz would have the proverbial punchers chance dnd if Tunney got careless he could certainly be taken out.

Fitz was the superior inside .Corbett liked to box from range

    Assuming a 15 rounds fight in a 20x20 ring.

I think Tunney would keep away and play it safe, winning the majority of the rounds, with Fitzsimmons probably winning one or two rounds by a large margin. 9 rounds to 5 with 1 even in favor of Tunney.

The unknown is could Tunney take Fitz's power and pressure as he wasn't quite as quick as Corbett, but was likely a bit more durable than Corbett.

Fitz actually wanted less infighting for their fight, with clean breaks and not hitting with one hand free.

I think in the footage Corbett is the better inside fighter, Fitz was better at punching with a bit of range.

True, Corbett was nasty on the inside. He's even stick his elbow in Fitz's neck to get out of a clinch.
