Compubox stats about power punches is bullcrap.
You can steal rounds with power punches, good example is what Povetkin and Ruiz was doing to Joshua. Land hard hook or straight right, and obviously hurt the opponent.
This is how you won a round with power punches, being the "less active" fighter in that round for example.
But Canelo never did this to Golovkin. And just because someone clip with his right hand, doesnt mean he land power punch, yet compubox count this as power punch, same with body punch, it could be just touching punch, and they will count it. Not to mention they can count punches, that was barely or totally blocked/parried.
If you watch the both fights, its obviuous that Golovkin landed the hardest shot.
And Golovkin jab is hard punch, same for Kovalev, a punch that knock opponents.
Canelo moving forward doesnt win him round as well. He didnt put GGG to pressure at all. Golovkin defence was insane in the second fight, and he did not find himself on the rope even once, yet Canelo find himself there. Wont even talk about the first fight, where he was hanging on the ropes for a lot of rounds.
And if we talk about active fighters, that was obviously GGG. Canelo was boxing for 30-60 seconds in most rounds, and then was resting. GGG was active the whole time. Through the fight it was obvious that Canelo start slipping and his cardio goes off.

If you dont see this you either blind, or heavy biased to Canelo.

This video shows very well what actually happen. I rewinded the fight and stopped and watched in slow motion some rounds/hits, and i had Golovkin win it clearly with 8-4, and i give every close round to Canelo.
You can even go with 9-3, but everything else is a complete b.c.

Which rounds did you give to GGG? Which rounds did you give to Canelo? You gave every close round to Canelo? The only clear rounds that GGG won were 1,4 and 10.

and it's still bizarre how people still support canelita considering that he took ped's. that this dude had stamina issues and magically consumed beef that was injected with clenbuterol and coincidentally the drug helps people with breathing during exercise when taken off label. these people know the game well, they take drugs and when they get busted they look for the animals that might be injected with drugs by humans or that they might have naturally high levels of a substance, like overeem with his horse meat excuse and tyson fury with his uncastrated wild boar excuse.

this boxing website is the most popular one out there on the internet so theres no doubt that people in the boxing industry read this forum constantly so all i have to say is that me and many people here LOL hard at you cheating con artist fighters who have no shame (this includes trainers, nutritionists, managers, and promoters that enable and let this happen), grow some balls you phonies.

Well, its simple. If you double the amount of punches Canelo landed, then he wins with ease. But you need to wear those Canel - o - Vision glasses.

Same. In the first fight the Canelistas wore the fig leaf of "but Canelo made GGG miss wildly" and "but Canelo landed the bigger punches".

This fight it was GGG making Canelo miss wildly and landing head - snapping shots that made my eyes water in sympathy.

End of story. The classic rebuttal to anyone who doesn't like injustice.

A KO would be end of story. Not that ****.

    Really ?

From the scoring of most boxing observers, I didn't get that impression.

I think most observers scored both fights for GGG and felt that Canelo got a pair of gifts.

The decisions are about as controversial as Oscar-Tito and Lennox-Evander 1, clearly wrong.

Unless that is what you meant by controversial ?
That this kind of judging could take place in the US ?

If so, then yes, they were controversial.

A third/trilogy fight is basically admission he lost the first one. Although for as long as GGG had most of those belts, he would normally get another chance.

Canelo is smart, he knows that the law of averages is against him and he don't want to wind up like Pac. Face first.
