Is David Price given too much stick or is he really the worst fighter ever

Worst fighter ever is really harsh. He would kick the butt of 98% of the humans out there. He's just not at the top most tier of the sport. Not elusive enough on defense and not durable enough to compensate for that.

 

I mean, he was overhyped and deserved a bit of stick after his downfall (or rather, more appropriately some of his fans deserved the humbling, as Price himself actually has always seemed like a decent bloke aside from the obvious "sell the fights" character-playing bluster), although you're still left with light years worth of daylight there before you reach "worst fighter ever", which he's thousands of places away from.

 

I could never call a fighter the worst ever! They’ve more balls than me. He’s not great, but fighting multiple times on sky sports and getting banged takes some resilience

 

By far not the worst....his problem is the hype train he rode in on..

We'll be talking about Hrgovic and Usyk the same way in a couple years after they pick up a few KO losses

Same thing with Tommy Morrison, who was actually a decent HW by all accounts, but began his career riding that hype train

He's not a bad fighter/boxer at all.

He is a glass cannon, however, as we have observed on several occasions.

He gets over the top hate because there were high expectations of him.

He came about in a time where the knock on klitschko was he only fought short, fat old dudes. Suddenly we had this tall, in shape massive punching guy. Obviously it didnt pan out.

I can see why people were dissapointed but i dont see any reason to hate Price, he pretty much always gives it everything and considering his weaknesses when you look at his fight with povetkin what more can you ask for really?

Check this guy out - Kristian Laight. Now that’s a horrible fighter, but he’s probably the mentally strongest of the all. Or he’s just stubborn, one of the two.
