Good grief. Baer is gonna eat bombs like they're on a buy one get three special.

If - and that's a fairly big IF - Baer's chin holds out he might well take it via mid rounds KO, because Shavers wasn't the toughest guy himself and Baer could hit plenty hard. I just don't like the idea of defending punches with your face against Shavers.

Baer would win, and probably quickly.

They can both bang, but Baer has the granite chin.

Shavers chin is going to crack first!

I's pick Baer on his chin and power alone, except for his god-awful technique, which imho levels the playing field a bit.

    Not really.

You didn't have to be a great fighter, or even a world class one to stop Shavers.

Baers technique worked well enough to get him to the top.

He had god given reflexes, which is largely why he got away with his technique!

He is going to land something on Shavers, before Shavers manages to hit him with everything bar the kitchen sink!

Talk about who lands first ... a prime Shavers had much better technique and defense. This is a fight where anything can happen .. it could go Shavers Quarry , Shavers Norton, Shavers Lyle or Shavers Williams .. to me it's who lands first as Baer never seemed to me a come from behind guy .. a coin toss to me ..

Shavers has great power but poor chin and stamina. Baer connects early to end it within 2-3 rounds.

Yeah, that's the one thing I disagree with. Baer seemed easy to land on to be honest. It's his big power that made people wary.

On the flip side he could also poleaxe top 5 fighters in a handful of minutes.

Probably Baer because he's longer, taller and more powerful fighter. I'm not talking about punching power, but Baer was stronger overall. His chin is also better, I don't see Shavers doing Louis here.

Yep I reckon max would have to be favorite here. I'd say he gets Shavers hurt in around the sixth and finishes him off.

Have to take Max here. But against shavers there’s always a chance. Prime Baer had a solid chin. Max by KO mid rounds
