Ruiz used feints well against AJ as is shown on this vid, how importatnt is it to use feints in boxing? Which fighters are good at using feints? Will feints be a factor in AJ`s rematch with Ruiz?

Think you can overdo it?Tyson Fury and even worse Hughie Fury do more feinting than fighting lol

Tyson has a lot more success wit his feinting than Hughie though.

Boxing is about hitting without being hit. Guys who can hit but are predictable tend to have short careers.

Think that a bit of a misnomer actually.I'd say it's more about hurting without being as hurt. your quote above would be more suited to Amateur boxing imo.

Need to hit to hurt and not be hit to not be hurt, no difference really.

course there is.In pro boxing you might take a few shots to get your own off.The better guys roll with the punches better and usually take em better.Hitting and not getting hit might be the case for some who do a lot of running but as Tyson said "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.
I'd of thought the difference was obvious?boxing has so many variables like what happened to Fury the other night. That saying about not getting hit suggests the opposition has no say and is totally unrealistic imo.
Admittedly I prefer clean boxers, trading off, trying to knock the other man out.

Maybe so. It's a matter of degree. Your top tier boxers tend not to get hit with too many flush clean shots. It happens of course but they are slipping, sliding and deflecting way more than they are getting hit. They also dont tend to get hit by stuff they dont see coming. And I'm not only talking about runners. Almost every top tier guy has very good defence.

The guys in the top tier generally hit way too hard for someone to take shots to give one. Probably wont work at that level.

I say generally because there are exceptions. I admit that.

I have the faintest clue when it comes to feints.

Didn't work with Floyd. He anticipated every shot by jerking his head back.

I feel Loma would have feinting Floyd to move out of position often if they could have met at the same young age, F;oyd was never in the ring with a master that could feint with his jab constantly the way Loma does to fighters.
