Holy destroys him in 5. Beyond the fact that Lastarza couldn't keep the leaden footed Marciano off of him, he has almost no names on his ledger that signify he was any good. His greatest asset was evasiveness, not in the ring but in his matchmaking. He missed every decent challenger with a pulse for over a decade.
Not only were Tillman Oquendo Tillis Donald Movers, they would have all beaten Lastarza, the most protected heavyweight of the 1950's.
As above Holyfield would catch up with Lastarza and break him down. I see Holyfield stopping him in around 7.
I'll take Holyfield via UD. His skills combined with workrate are too much for LaStarza, and his ring IQ will allow him to seek out a strategy around LaStarza's jab earlier than Marciano. But LaStarza is too game and too tough to be knocked out by Holyfield, especially in a 12 rounder.
There's only one actual good mover on that list and Evander lost to him. Thanks for proving my point. LaStarza was protected because he was a potential Champion. Again, proved my point for me.
They were all movers in terms of the accepted boxing sense. You think Holyfield losing to Donald when he was a month off of 42 years old proves your point? Oh My!
Why would you throw a talented fighter everyone knows is Championship potential to the Lions? Foreman was navigated to the title in a stacked era by beating Chuvalo....why? Cause he was that good and no point in risking anymore than you don't have to.
Tillis was 38-13 when Evander fought him and would go on to lose 9 more times, only winning 4 more fights against losing record novices. He was unrated and had not beat a contender since 1982. You mock LaStarza but big up a journeyman. There's a reason Tillis got all those fights with contenders and wasn't protected, he was the guy you used to protect a good fighter. He's the type of guy LaStarza's people would have licked their lips at and been all too eager to put in the ring with their guy for a glorified sparring session. Qquendo vs Evander was a meaningless fight between a has-been and a never was. You can send me a paypal donation for this free education. For the record Holyfield would beat LaStarza on points or late stoppage. But it didn't require much to expose how clueless and bias you are when you are not on the attack. My work is done here.
Foreman has Lastarrza was kept away from the iron of the division because he wasn't very good! That's why they kept feeding him no hopers. EG 16 fight a guy 9-1-1 Foreman fought top ten ranked Peralta in his 16th fight. Lastarza 30th fight against a guy 22-19-5 36th v 12-21-3 37th v 16-13-3 38th v 7-6-1 42ndv 8-9-1 44th 15-19-1 50th v 6-3-1 52nd v 14-9-2 opponent 179lbs , and he lost! Foreman 22nd fight Chuvalo 24th Kirkman 28th Peralta 38th Frazier 39thRpman 40th Norton 41 st Ali 42nd Lyle 43rd Frazier No comparison! Lastarza was always protected ,he even admiited he turned down big fights. Look at the guys he avoided; Baker Henry Dunlap Valdes Bivins Agramonte Satterfield Walls Jackson Walcott Louis Charles Norkus Holman Thompson Wallace Sys Slade Oma Gardner Wiliams Its a ranked decade of the division! Lastarza lost to a light heavyweight journeman Rocky Jones who knocked him down.and some thought Jones was under a pull in the rematch.Lastarza got a title shot on the basis of a controversil loss top Marciano when both ere up and comers, that ,and beating a used up Rex Layne ,he was more hype than substance, and its an established fact!
You don't like me thats fine I think you are an absolute F C C! Here's a clue all three are 4 letter words as in First Class and the last one ending in T.
