Mantequilla the smooth boxer puncher versus the likes of Spence,Crawford, Porter ,etc How would he fare in 12 rds fights with these guys?
Spence, Porter, and Crawford are all pretty good, so it wouldn't be a cakewalk or anything. But, Napoles would be a heavy favorite over all three. I would have him winning by KO over Crawford, and winning a lopsided decision over Porter. I am still not sure how good Spence is yet. (Or, how good his chin is, since it hasn't really been tested). I am sure he is not as good as Mantequilla. Time will tell whether Spence is good enough to give Napoles a competitive fight or not.
Man, fair enough but imagine what this guy would do to modern fighters from 126 through 135? Shouldn't be allowed, I shudder to imagine. Man, he could fight Lomachenko, oh Jesus can you imagine a thirty fight Napoles taking on Lomachenko? Hahahahaahahaha
Tough call for me all things considered. I am a big Napoles fan and he might be my favorite WW?! But I am also a big appreciator of modern boxing as well and think this current crop is disregarded by classic forum posters. For me weight is a big issue in these hypotheticals....by virtue of the changes in rules from same day to day before these WW’s are going to be larger than anything outside of a 1974 MW version of Napoles. I think Napoles is better/greater than these guys (at least so far) but if he is coming in at 147 he is at a decided weight/strength disadvantage and if he bulks up I am not convinced he is as good or quick. I would make him the favorite against all 3 at this point, but I don’t think it is as clear cut as some might make it.
Napoles beats them all, he is a class above IMO. Obviously not easily though, but he has the skills to negate physical advantages of Spence or Crawford. I mean, look at him in the beginning against ****ing Monzon.
