Saw that too, but that was quite a while ago just saw he fought a very low level journeyman last year, and that's all. (boxrec'd it)
Can't agree with Calzaghe/Kessler. He is very skilled. Kessler was a more classic textbook fighter, but Calzaghe's skills are unorthodox and awkward. He is able to adjust and change throughout a fight.
Calzaghe beat Kessler by doing what he usually does! Calzaghe a southpaw with fast hands, a good jab and a big punch output/engine who could bang at one point before his hands went. He was good at beating his opponent to the punch but also countering as well. Kessler had the right idea with the short fast uppercut but not much else
chavez vs andy lee ... suppose it wasnt really will he just walked him down and managed to take all of lees shots until he broke him froch vs taylor isnt a bad shout... froch wasnt the most skilled but there wasnt a chance anyone would ever outwork him maidana vs broner??
Salido v Lomo and Maidana came close to upsetting one of the greatest with pure determination to beat him up.
I would say Froch in quite a lot of his fights at world level. He always had a determination to keep going when other fighters would have given up or swerved opposition. If he was being outboxed and nullified it didn't matter to him. Look at the Ward, Bute, Kessler and Groves fights in particular. Also got to give it to Ricardo Mayorga, his wins over Forrest are a good example of limited fighter who overcomes skillful opponent and he done it twice. Not that he would have been intimidated in the slightest by skilled fighters
Controversial pick Margarito over cotto Can't be arsed debating the did he didn't he handwrap scandal.. Its been done to death... Watchin that as it happened there was no question who the better more skilled slicker boxer was... Cotto made Margarito look shite.... But then he gassed abit and started sitting on the ropes and Margs was utterly relentless and pressured him til he couldn't escape... One of the best fights I ever saw live and as a huge Margarito fan at the time I was loving it... Obviously there is doubt cast over it with subsequent happenings but watchin it happen it was phenomenal.. Chin, stamina and sheer will
Lol good call as Broner was seen as the heir apparent to Mayweather.seems crazy now but prior to Maidana the hype around Broner was huge and like him or loathe him he was entertaining lol.
