    The interesting thing about Hagler was that around the time he got really popular (Hearns, Mugabi) his physical skills were already in steep decline. Experience, willpower, chin and conditioning got him through those fights. He was only I think 32-33 when he fought Leonard but he seemed so much slower. Some observers think that he actually peaked very early in his title reign and his best years were before he won the title. Man, he had a tough road to win the title too, going through all those Philly middleweights. Fighters just don't come up that way anymore. It shouldn't be held against a young fighter to take a few losses when they are coming up. Everything is about protecting the '0' now. Even in MMA a few early losses is not really held against a fighter, something boxing should re-learn.
