Bottom line for me is Porter is just an ugly fighter. He never allows a fight to really open up because he crowds his opponent so much. This fight was close but all of Porter's fights are close because he smothers his opponents. Most opponents can't handle his aggression and blanket style of fighting. I, for one, don't like his style but he IS maximizing what talent he has. He is a superb athlete but not a superb fighter. Heart of a lion.

What. a. fight. I have gained a ton of respect for Porter tonight, he made Spence uncomfortable as advertised. It was super close in my eyes and I don't have a problem with Errol getting the nod, but those cards were too wide. And am I the only one that noticed the compubox looking kinda shifty in real time? Maybe it's part of the Pbc package of promoting Spence as the next thing.

Bruh...I love Porter, but that’s just not an accurate assessment. With all due respect. If it were a 10 round fight, maybe. The last two rounds happened and were the difference in the fight.

I think Spence has an easier time with Crawford. Crawford gives distance. Spence likes distance. He will land some big shots on Crawford.

    I was rooting for Porter.

And he was on his way to a win ( or a draw) till that KD.

    But he lost.

    115 - 112

Porter takes everyone he’s in with to the edge, I don’t think he’s ever really conclusively been beaten, all his losses have been very close, you could argue he beat Thurman and maybe even Brook, though that was a bit wider. He has a style that forces you to have to fight to survive, he very much forces you to fight his fight and there’s no escaping it. I had Spence winning solely on the KD and Porter has nothing to be ashamed about, I definitely feel he’s gonna be in the books for one of the most entertaining welters of all time

I agree it was too wide. It should have been 7-5 Spence, making it 115-112 with the KD.

:deal: At least I can take that positive away from this repulsive robbery, Porter once and for all destroyed the mystique of The Sleepy Eyed One. And proved he was every bit as featherfisted and one dimensional hypejob as I've said he was. And that yes, Crawford would shut him out 12 zip. Hell Pacman probably gives him hell.

Disagree and I’m someone who used to really criticise his “bumrushing” style. He’s slicker than people realise. Good head movement, underrated footwork and the way he switched 180 like a lizard from being tied up in the ropes to ripping hooks into Spence was a joy to watch.

Yeah, his bobbing, ducking and weaving is epic.

Not often you see a fighter recover from that KD left he took, which literally spun his neck around and sent his eyes to the back of his head.

Based on what? He won a tough close fight against another champion, not sure why that’s problematic for anybody.
