I think a lot of people have that fight as far too sided in their mind, it was a competitive fight until Brook done his eye. The GGG fight ruined him.

    The ggg beat down
    The weight cutting
    Inactivity
And spences low blows all had an impact on the fight imo

Definitely think the weight cutting played a part but Spence is a special talent. He’s still a bit green and certainly was against Brook but he’s just going to get better and better.

Yes I think he might have. It’s ridiculous that people are talking about Spence being P4P when he won the IBF belt, they weren’t saying that about Brook before he beat him and that was a close fight. Crawford beats him clearly for me.

No.Spence is very good but he's not special.Crawford would make him look average if they ever fight imo.

I got Brook on points in a hard one before the GGG fight taking place..Bad bad career management taking a fight you defo cant win then having facial reconstruction and dropping weight so quick for a very good fighter in Spence..Two really bad career moves on the bounce, terrible !

I don’t buy the idea that GGG ruined him.

In 2014 he did a brilliant job of beating Porter. Full credit to him but his next meaningful fight at 147 was 3 years later which is absolutely mental. Gavin, Bizier and Dan Ion were hardly frightening names to keep him sharp and on top of that he puts a stone of timber on for a middleweight fight before starving his body to make 147 again.

3 years wasted in his prime between Porter and Spence. That contributed a lot more to his defeat than going toe to toe with GGG for 15 minutes.

To have that kind of injury in a career that isn't finished yet isn't good news, it added weakness to the otherside..No doubt that's sped up his career ending or his chances in a hard fight, like how the Spence fight went !

I agree but so was Brook. Without the GGG fight I have no doubt Brook would gave beat Soence.

I agree it certainly never helped but I think just like prime Brook was a level above Porter, he would have been for Spence. Brooks win against Porter was clearer than anyone else against him.

I don't think so. I think the GGG fight took years off of his career, which we're seeing now, but I'm not sure the Spence fight goes any differently.

If anything you'd think experiencing a broken eye socket already might have helped...

It's not the GGG fight necessarily, it's his competition he would have faced instead. I do not believe I am speaking out of turn here when I say Kell has only had 3 fights at the top level, in which his record is 1-2. You can't just jump in and out of world class, you have to build yourself up there, which he did well, and then once you're there push on. There's no point going on and fighting a series of no marks in between your massive fights - it hinders you.

Kell Brook's biggest mistake will forever be not unifying with Jesse Vargas when he had the chance. They should have paid everything that it cost, because 100% after that Kell makes a **** load of money as a unified champ. He could have had Pacquiao or anyone after that.
