He looked as fresh as ever. Totally motivated and hadn't lost a step. But he, again, didn't get the win. When you put everything into something and continually fall short, that has to take a toll. Wonder if this will affect his motivation going forward.
Idk man, I think his main motivation will be that half the people or more had him winning the fight + he just strikes me as the sort of guy who just stays motivated no matter what
Um, whenever a guy is expected to lose and doesn't lose, he generally comes back much stronger. It's Spence's confidence that took a huge hit. He's probably regretting his nickname and will start using Man Down instead of The Truth.
I think i would like to see Porter go up to Light-Middle. I think he's more than capable of bullying Tony Harrison and picking up the green belt.
This is what happens when you fight the best at their best and all that matters is that you gave your best. Im sure it sucks not getting the call but today Shawn Porter has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to hang his head about. Hes a two time world champion and still has the chance to win a third. Its not like Spence wiped the floor with him like the Spence slurpers were saying. SP is a winner in life, he'll be just fine.
Sometimes when you put everything into something you want, and it does not happen for you, it can be a great let down mentally, A person is then consumed with self doubt. On the other hand a person can rebuild, and develop a chip on the shoulder, so to speak. I think that Shawn Porter can regroup and turn this fight into a learning experience. He will improve as time goes along, and be a better fighter.
He did his best and he's gotten a lot of credit for it. He didn't come up short in reality. He put it all out there and earned respect like he's never had before. A true legend in my eyes, he has nothing to be ashamed of and his mentality is strong enough to recognise that.
It does not hurt his reputation, but he had a hard knockdown. He should take a long rest. 6 months and then come back. He is going to start to slide soon. Not because of age, but his fights are always brawls and he tends to get hit by big punchers. He takes it well, but eventually the energy level drops and that style slows.
Porter reminds me of glen johnson! Great tough fighter who was robbed a lot of times! Always dangerous to any one! He will be a champ again
He doesnt continuously fall short he just beat Broner and walked into the Spence fight as a title holder no?!?
