would be something I’d probably buy if people like canelo, Golovkin, AJ etc don’t go anywhere anytime soon just a shame it’s not available in uk. Anyone know if it will ever happen?
I doubt it. Not enough people, so the model doesn't make sense financially. Well, at least not for boxing.
DAZN also shows the English premier league games in addition to boxing. I think that it is a natural move for them to enter the British market. But they are probably waiting for an opportunity depending on what Sky sports and BT sports does next. If they can make money in the UK no doubt that they enter the market. I think it depends on how the English premier league and championship football rights wars play out. Sky sports is getting weaker and being forced to give away games to competitors
Just waiting on football rights No point launching without something the British public will buy I hope they do because at the yearly price id sign up
DAZN might be but the concept definitely won’t. If you look at Netflix/Amazon Prime/Apple/Disney. Streaming platforms are the way forward. The value for money for what you get in America is ridiculous. The key to DAZN or any other sports streaming platform in the UK is football. Land the premier league / champions league for a massive influx but the championship, some decent boxing, MMA and maybe some golf/cricket or something thrown in for £10 a month and you could be on to a winner.
100% DAZN are part of perform and have been expanding over here quite a bit over the last couple of years.
Blimey DAZN is just one of a plethora of streaming services - there are loads out there giving a 99.99% discount every fight.
DAZN has nothing in the US, it has the Premier League which what 1% of americans care about and boxing of which 99% couldn't name anyone bar Canelo
Nope https://www.insidesport.co/dazn-records-950-year-on-year-revenue-growth/ http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/dazn-sports-app-revenue-growth-espn-mlb-streaming http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/dazn-debt-subscribers-financial-report-2018 http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/dazn-ott-streaming-german-bundesliga-sky-soccer-rights-challenge Not exactly a company that looks like its going out of business. They are still looking to be aggressive in the markets they are already in. Now of course America is different and they need to get sports rights for those major US sports when the rights are open for tender. I see them only going to the UK if they can get the premier league. Could he possible as BT are cutting back. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.th...etflix-sport-plans-heavyweight-3bn-float.html
I would pay for dazn for the boxing alone.100 dollars for the year....Spence v porter and wilder v ortiz 2 would cost you 150 dollars ppv.Great value for the yanks.
In Canada it has all of the Premier League football with all the US boxing in for $20 Canadian a month (around £15) which is a steal. Unless BT become disinterested in the Premier League I can’t see any other provider getting a look in so those rights look unlikely for any UK launch. Sky are incredibly wary of any new streaming platform coming in hence the uneasy relationship between Matchroom and Sky currently because of DAZN.
I got a great deal on this ancient DAZN dinosaur, and just got earthquake centre point chucked in as well recently!!!
