Both have monstrous power. Wilder might edge it out though

Wilder edges it on raw one-punch power, but Tyson hits nearly as hard and way more often. Wilder will put your lights out, Tyson will beat the **** out of you. Then put your lights out....

They both have serious power. But, Wilder's boxing skills are laughable.

I'm gonna go out and say Tyson hits harder. It should be obvious because:

    - Tyson has bone crunching knockout power in both hands and from whatever punch he threw. Uppercuts, hooks, even his jab will rock opponents back. Whether from his left hand or right.

    - Wilder is essentially a one trick pony with the right hand. He lacks the same kind of power in the right hand with other punches. Take away his right hand, his other punches are nowhere near as powerful.

    - Tyson has knocked out more credible foes with the right hand than Wilder did. This leads me to believe Tyson actually has the harder right hand punch. Wilder has impressive knockouts with the right hand, but against questionable foes. If Wilder had true all time great punching power, the right hand he threw against Fury would have kept Fury down. Even a late, faded old Tyson was able to obliterate Francois Botha, a normally durable opponent, with a right hand square to the jaw.

All that being said, I still favor Wilder in today's heavyweight landscape and his right hand hits hard enough to be an equalizer in any fight.

Tyson was skilled, and had the aura of a monster and people entered the ring terrified of him. A number of opponents (even name guys) were beaten mentally before they ever got in the ring and just fell down from the anticipation of what they thought was coming.

Boxers like to ridicule Wilder because he's awkward, so nobody is falling down from fear. They all think they can beat the clumsy, skinny guy who most of them outweigh by 20 pounds or more when they sign to fight Wilder. And they're falling down because he's caving their heads in.

    Wilder hits harder.

You’ve got to consider the level of opposition and their ambition going into the the fight.

That said we’ve all seen opponents get hit by Wilders right and carry on fighting but all we get shown is the punch that ends the fight. Almost every opponent Wilder knocks down gets up again and he doesn’t KO many at all rather TKO.

The KO of Breazeale is, IMO, Wilders best display of power. I rate Breazeale higher than the ghost of Stiverne in the second fight. Don't care that Stiverne is a former champion. Breazeale has shown a good chin and massive heart in previous fighter so a KO1 on par with what Tyson was doing just before he stepped up and started to unify. However, Tyson has got many more KOs of that caliber and a few better. Wilder failed to KO his first proven opponent in Fury while Tyson KO'd Holmes, Spinks, and Bruno before his supposed decline. While I rate Ortiz I'm leaving him out as he has a thin resume and Cubans don't have the best reputation in the chin department.

Wilder hasn't given any reason to think that he hits harder than Wladimir Klitschko yet.

I wouldn't fear Wilder as much as Tyson in a street fight.

Tyson was limited by his length when it came to landing punches. The major difference with Wilder is he's often able to land flush due to his long ass arms when an opponent thinks he's out of range, and he's also punching down which makes it easier to transfer force.

Mike Tyson was up against better proven chins if you REALLY know your boxing .Wilders actual best knockout where the guy didn't get up was Szpilka .

That should tell you who hits harder and how quick and limited boxing fans memories are.

    Holmes > Szpilka .

Even at age 50 so lets not use the age here either.

No one would fight M.Tyson if he was in his prime today and had the current WBC line up to feast on from 2015 to present like Wilder has . lol

Stiverne was out of the ring and being lazy in his camp and ballooned up. He was also stopped before so that isn't his best knock out with a legit prepared guy and its actually Joyce's who fought a more prepared Stiverne.

Breazeale almost beat the count to the hardest hit Wilder achieved on someone , like most wilder stoppages they aren't without them stretched out or slumped,as many M.Tysons were. Fury has also showed he can be whacked down to the canvas by lesser guys if you land clean on him .

Its really no comparison comparing the two when you have to include opponent quality ,Wilder has to be top 10 just bc the % of his K.Os is so high like Shavers but anyone that takes the actual time to research how they got these numbers will find out why. Tyson is clearly over wilder until proven otherwise. He lucked out with having Ortiz stoppage ,his K.O percentage isn't the highest either,i believe its Joshuas and if its not he has better actual knockouts then wilder...Whyte / Povetkin / Breazeale who actually didn't get up in that one / K.Johnson / .

People are looking at highlight reels but are they watching the overall fights? Doesn't look like it.
