It it and it isn't. Boxing is probably the only physical sport where age can excel over youth.

That is why furys win over an old vlad aint that impressive
Then to duck the rematch with an even older vlad was just shameful

To a point dinovelvet. There is a point where experience is important and then there is a point where the body just cant compete at the top level any more.

Reflexes slow just a little. Endurance drops just a little. Punches lose just a little snap. That happens and a guy can still outbox most people in the world but is no longer able to compete at the highest level.

    It's a real thing.

Anything physical favours the younger man but experience counts for a lot.

To a point. There is an old boxing adage that when a fighters legs go, they are done.

The old heads and by that I mean really knowledgeable trainers from past would say you could sometimes see a fighter get old mid-fight.

The legs go, reflexes go and you just cannot get out of the way or get in position to take that big shot.

It's always been that way and probably always will be.

Sports science has maybe lengthened careers by a few years but the human body is still the human body.

    Nothing much has changed.

Watch what happens to Furry when his legs go. He will be a big tall dude, with limited power, who cannot get out of the way. Timber!

Hopefully his last fight was an aberration and he still has some spring in his legs. With his style, the ability to move is everything.

Don't know if this is true or not but Showtime have named her brother as the suspected attacker so you might be right if it is true

UPDATE: Showtime has named the suspected attacker to be Artis Mack, Claressa Shields’ brother!

Undisputed female middleweight champion Claressa Shields stated on social media yesterday that Ivana Habazin’s trainer James Ali Bashir being sucker-punched from behind is “inexcusable” and that the assailant is not a part of her team.

Flint Police Chief Timothy Johnson confirmed to ABC12 News that the person who allegedly punched Bashir is in jail and police are seeking a warrant for charges. He didn’t name the suspect.

Bashir, who formerly worked with Enanuel Steward, reportedly got into a heated shouting match with Claressa’s sister prior to the incident. He underwent surgery for facial fractures and is recovering.
