He's definitely not going back to Sanchez though. GGG has a lot of pride and I can't see him putting his head down with his tail between his legs asking Abel for forgiveness.
GGG already tried Roach at the start of his career at the Wild Card Gym, but he didn't like it and went to big bear instead to join Abel Sanchez.
Since GG dont wanna spend too much on a trainer, he should try out Goosen. Goosen is Very underrated and good for offensive fighters.
I’m of the mindset that GGG plateaued with Abel a few years back and a change in trainer would have been beneficial at that point. Is Banks the correct trainer? Certainly not and Abel is much better suited but I think GGG has left it to late, he won last night but looked much slower than 12 months ago and he’s at that stage in his career where as other posters have alluded to no trainee will turn back the clock. Personally I’d like to see him have a run with Roach.
Never say never. They are not school friends, both are experienced professionals. Golovkin just needs to take the first step — to call Sanchez, for example. He won't have to beg, I'm sure. Sanchez will either politely say no or show him that he's interested. Then they can meet and discuss the details. Something like that...
Golovkin doesnt use his jab as much with Banks. If Golovkin goes back to the way he fought Brooks and Canelo and Jacobs, using the jab overtime,he can control fighters like S.D.more and set up his bombs.Golovkin did well when he was behind his jab.He has the best jab in the business, all Banks did was get Golovkin to use his jab 50% less than usual.
I'd go with McGirt or Robert Garcia. McGirt extended Gatti's career and is doing the same thing with Kovalev. Garcia is one of the best trainers in getting the most out of his fighters. Look at what he did with Maidana, he turned him from being a crude banger into a capable boxer.
Abel didn't even believe in Golovkin having a nutritionist lol. Just had him eat whatever Mexican food
Dissapointed in banks. Ggg didnt show anything new. Ggg jab is so good. Ggg an banks made no adjustments. If ggg just stabbed chencko to the head n body with jab an instead of head hunting kill the body. Also no kronk style. No jab left hook step back right hand. No rolling with punches. No pawing jab hit him with your own jab. No inside uppercuts . no classic kronk straight shots. Ggg needs to add dimensions to his game hes getting old so might be to late.
GG believes that he is a bigshot now so he isnt going to lower his pride for Sanchez. It would be different if Sanchez reaches out first.
Yes he should. Sometimes realigning yourself with familiarity is a positive thing. It is like going to the same old auto mechanic, or the same physician whom you have been going to for years, they know everything about you very well. Abel Sanchez knows Golovkin very well, just as Angelo Dundee with Muhammad Ali, Emmanuel Steward, with Thomas Hearns, and The Petronelli's with Marvelous Marvin Hagler. You go to someone new, things could change for the good, or the bad. Remember what happened to Iron Mike Tyson, when he left Kevin Rooney, he was not the same anymore, his corner got worse. Abel and Gennady need to work things out. Sometimes newer is not better.
Nope, but he should patch things up so Madrimov can. That kid would be a killer with some simple pressure footwork.
