I'm a glass half full kinda guy. Turn this into a positive and apply for a job with VADA. You like a boxer, they test him. Gonna save a lot of time and resource...
Really good to see nice interactions like this, so often this place can be pretty toxic. I hope things start getting better for you @Aydamn - on this forum, you seem totally out of your tree but I think deep down you're a good guy. I won't try to build on what @catchwtboxing said, because he put it perfectly. But he's right - the law of averages will swing things in your favour eventually. Hang in there my friend.
I agree Holyfield's transition to HW mostly came out of a bottle, but there are lots of cruisers, light-heavy's and even lighter guys that became the #1 at Heavyweight. The names Moorer, Spinks, Patterson, Byrd and such immidiately pop into people's heads thinking about it, and certainly in the ye olden days, when people walked around in greyscale sometimes saw welters come all the way up to heavy to take the crown. Not to mention the ones that never were the #1, but were still very succesful (beltholders and such).
What kind of lowdown dirty son of a female dog would want to cheat and hurt The Usyk God of all people? **** you Tyrone Spongle this **** is personal between us now. You don't mess with family. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Chin up mate is disappointing but life goes on, hopefully they get a good replacement in as Usyk is definitely fighting - just in a worse fight.
Spinks, Patterson and Byrd? I'd say those guys were OK heavyweights. I know they had some success but they were not dominant heavyweights in the mold of Louis, Ali, Holmes, Tyson or Klit brothers. They were good but not great heavyweights I'd say. I'm not sure Spinks was even a good heavyweight to be honest. So if the bar is to be the next Byrd or Patterson, ok, I think that's possible. But to become what I'd call a dominating heavyweight champion, it's a tough hill to climb. If you go way back in time, yes, all kind of crazy stuff happened. The sports changed a lot since then and is much more mature. Its doubtful we will be seeing 155lb guys fighting for the HW championship again.
I knew it was a bad year boxing-wise, but sorry to hear about life - hope things improve for the rest of the year!
What Whyte did ain't right And what Spong did is wrong But everything is going to be alright If you just listen to this song on repeat all night long This content is protected
Really sorry to hear of your tragic losses, life is brutal and can hit very hard, and very often. No one is immune from the pain that life brings to each of us... even those who try to find the positives have their day eventually. But I hope we all find the strength to keep going and push through lifes biggest punches we might not be happy about it, but we make the most of it. really hope you are in a better place mate and thank you for reaching out with your sentiments. Glad we could sympathise with each other
That's the least option. The casuals would only see the record and the almost certain early to mid rounds ko though.
considering he started his career fighting at 70-75 kgs, that would be like 160 lbsish..yes..big shock
