Yep. Even more alarming, I heard him say on a podcast the other day that he thinks he will retire mid 30s. Also, he said several times over the past few months that he is already a hall of famer and doesn't need Spence for his legacy.

And no matter what Spence says, he knows this. Bud could derail his hype machine right now real quick. But if he waits him out, he can fight an older Crawford or just move up to 154 and never have to face him.

It sure sounds real good. But it is an age old trick in boxing, Mayweather waited for Manny to get inactive and old, before fighting him. Yank Durham waited to see how Ali's draft case played out, until Muhammad got his license back and time ate away at him before letting Joe fight him. In 1967, Durham said no to Frazier s' request to fight Ali then, saying Joe Was Too Green For Clay. I think the same game is being played on Crawford, to wait for him to get older.

Sounds familiar, I heard Ortiz's theory is: 65 is the new 35

If bud age rapidly from this year, he will be beaten by an older Pacman next year

Spence might be three years younger but he's been in a lot more wars. Crawford has played it relatively safe up till now, but age will start to become a factor regardless. The fight really needs to be made now, before either fighter declines.

Guess that's what Spence and Haymon team are looking for then, wait till this guy gets old - AKA "letting the fight marinate"

Agreed. Unfortunately his best years will be fighter under the chokehold of Arum, fighting tomato cans.

Spence might be too big for Crawford regardless of age difference.

    It's an interesting thought.
I do think people age differently but all age none the less.
I always thought Froch was past his best when he won his first world title when seeing how he looked when he started his career, but he still went on to have a good one

I remember how when Ray fought Tommy in 1981, Ray was the more experienced guy and Hearns the one in his first superfight. 8 years later, Ray was ringside for most of the 1980s and Tommy fought the whole decade one superfight after another and Tommy comes in the more experienced guy and shopworn and Ray supposedly fresher. That was a very interesting situation because of Ray's retirements and layoffs. Ray fought 4 times since Tommy in 1981 and Tommy fought 16 times.

Spence wants none of this fight. It isn't happening.

Danny Garcia is his only real option. I don't think Thurman or Pac ever fights him. Porter rematch is there after Garcia.

Crawford will take on Kavaliauskas next and then TopRank will get Ramirez, Prograis and Vergil Ortiz to step up to 147lbs for career best paydays one by one.

And that's just how it's gonna go for these two guys. You might see 36yr old Bud fighting 33yr old Spence in a "super fight" but that's a joke really.

If Crawford wanted the fight he wouldn’t ask for 50/50 cause who has he fought at 147?! 2. It’s his fault he knew resigning with Top Rank was idiotic. Stop making excuses it was a duck and now he says there’s no other side if the street. I think Crawford beats Spence but it is a pick em fight. But he’s and idiot resigning with TR
