Panama Lewis is what Alex Ariza was striving to be. I wish I knew what Lewis gave Pryor so I can take it for everyday energy burst now. I really didn't know that any injury after 35 is permanent pain.

Also great piece on both guys and the drug epidemic that affected both men in some way personally. The 80s were a mutha and cocaine was king.

I love this fight and watch it frequently. They go at it from round 1. I use this as an example of a fight to show people who want to get into boxing

Watch HBO's documentary "Assault in the ring."
If you have an ounce of a brain, it will clearly inform you what exactly Panama Lewis gave Aaron Pryor between rounds of his fight with Alexis Arguello.
Not only that, but Panama was also tampering with the gloves of his fighters during that time.

I have zero respect for both Panama Lewis and Aaron Pryor who went to his grave and never spoke the truth about the issue.

No drugs. Arguello was overrated. Pryor much too fast and brought the dog out in Arguello.

What was the supposed drug of choice because to this day nobody knows what he took or if he took anything at all.

According to Luis Resto, who Panama Lewis trained, Panama would crush asthma medication and mix it in a water bottle.
Resto was the beneficiary of drinking from such a mix, he said it would open his breathing tubes right up making it easier for him to breathe.
That's what was in the black bottle Aaron Pryor took from between several rounds of his fight with Alexis Arguello.
