You know he only defeated a couple of undefeated prospects thus far, like Bakole and Kuzmin, but that already elevated him enough in the ranks to favor him over an old top heavyweight like Povetkin, who hasn't looked like his old self for years now.
Bakole And Kuzmin.... elevated him in the ranks? LOL! I want some of what you have been drinking as well ))
If your barometer of what a badass Povetkin is is beating David Price by stoppage, hey... so did Kuzmin, only he didn't get rocked across the ring and held up by the ropes in the process. Also, unlike Povetkin, Bakole actually LEGITIMATELY stopped Wach.
I really like hunter and never was a povetkin fan but I favor povetkin here However predicting hunter vs povetkin based on his usyk fight is odd. They aren't remotely comparable
I don't dispute that. But nobody knows what happens outside of competition and a few vouch that Andy Ruiz was indeed knocked out by Michael Hunter out of competition. I don't believe Andy Ruiz has explicitly denied it.
Just compare Povetkin's and Hunter's resumes, and watch their highlights. You will stop this nonsense.
Never heard anything more about that injury after his corner pulled him out. It was an excuse, because Pricey was clearly starting to fall apart.
Price had Povetkin out on his feet. Nearly dropped his ass. Povetkin looked horrible that night. And Duhaupas took the fight on short notice, 3 years ago... Hunter is though as hell, as proven by the Usyk fight. He was badly hurt and fatigued, yet made it to the final bell. And he also took some heavy shots from Bakole. Povetkin has scored more decision wins lately than knockouts. So I don´t see how him getting the KO here is a given. Everything points to this fight going the distance.
Povetkin is really old now. A fresher version I'd pick in a heartbeat over Hunter, but this version? I don't know. Certainly he's strong and accurate and skilled enough to win, but as some have pointed out, Hunter is on the up and Povetkin on the way down. I'll be cheering for Povetkin.
