Azumah Nelson is likely my favorite non Philly fighter, but I don’t think he would pull this off. It would be competitive and over 15 I fear you might be right.

Yep, I'll go with the above, Chavez grind s down Nelson and stops him late. Tho the cards may be close.

I love Nelson, but I’m going with the general consensus that he gets beaten down the stretch with Chavez coming on strong late and may even get a stoppage

A great fight and competitive with Chavez winning a 8-4/7-5 type decision.

I've gone against the consensus on this one. Chavez was an excellent super featherweight but maybe not quite peak - that happened up at lightweight. Nelson would have been every bit as strong as Chavez at this weight. Neither guy would take a backward step but I'm picking Nelson with slightly more big fight experience at this respective point of their careers to edge it, possibly by only a point or two.

Nelson by decision. I think at 130lbs the timing is right for him to edge it. Julio probably peaked at 135 and his early years at 140.

I agree with the Nelson picks. Chavez became was very good at Super Featherweight but he really came into his own at Lightweight and Jr.welter. Conversely, This was Nelson's best weight. Extremely tough fight to call, but I'm leaning towards Nelson by split dec.... But no one is getting stopped in this one.

I'm with the kool kids for all the reasons stated. I think Nelson is underrated and i think he could win a very hard fought and close trilogy.

There's not really an obviously wrong answer here - picking Nelson to beat Chavez is not crazy even if Chavez looks like the favourite in the poll.

It would be a brilliant fight.
