Absolutely. IMO the ref saved Joshua from Takam , Joshua had thrown the kitchen sink @ takam & Joshua was running out of steam & his trainer out of ideas(sound familiar) .On top of that didn't Takam take this fight at short notice...again a similar theme that (almost) backfired?
Winning gold at the Europeans, Worlds and Olympics then becoming unified, undisputed and undefeated world champion in your weight division may also help your cause. I really hate these overnight hype jobs too...
Takam is , not so sure about Breazy. When His greatness Andre Ward moved up to LHW didn't he have 2 testers to aquaint to the weight...but Usyk has to go in with a mauler like Chisora or Takam ? These two guys are & always will be a handful for anyone, I bet Joshua would struggle again with Takam & even Whyte ...So maybe a fight against a Breazedale might be in order as he is a big guy & will be the biggest guy Uysk has faced in competition...forget about the Sparring tales of running rings around a in gear Vlad... Hum Hmmm
While true, he still needs to be tested. I'd hate for Usyk to end up like Pulev, another guy who was the uncrowned heir (on ESB) and heavily hyped off beating washed up fighters. I also seem to recall another former undisputed cruiserweight who had to earn his shot at the heavyweight belts.
I'd like to see him fight someone like Takam or Breazeale, maybe Joyce again. HW division's really thin though.
If Chisora beats Price, he would be the logical next opponent for Usyk. Parker would be okay, Whyte would be good. Povetkin if he beats Hunter would make for an interesting fight.
Brezeale , povtekin ,miller ,joyce , ortiz, takam.chisora, parker ,price , whyte, konowacki ,Rivas, helenius, arreola Hell even David Price All of these guys are top 20 at least I'm good if usyk faces anyone of these guys to get use to the weight
