In an interview after the bout with Usyk Witherspoon told the Ukranian is ready to beat Ruiz cause even if "the Destroyer" is very fast and powerful with the hands Usyk thanks to his wonderful feetwork could hit Ruiz hard for all the match without get tired. However he tells Usyk would have troubles with Joshua cause too big for him. Do you agree?
I reckon when AJ beats Ruiz in the rematch, everyones opinion on Usyk "beating" AJ will change. Drastically.
Usyk beating AJ would be like Loma beating Prograis. It'd be a huge achievement that'd instantly put him #1 P4P. I don't think he can pull it off unless AJ loses the rematch and becomes a shell of his former self; in which case Usyk vs AJ would be unlikely to happen.
I’d back him to beat Ruiz with relative ease. With Joshua there are still big question marks over his weight for me, and if he doesn’t address them in his next fight, perhaps he never will. But if Joshua does strip back down to his weight from earlier fights (around 230/235lbs) I can see him getting the win.
Joshua is a poor matchup for Usyk. He's usually patient and has timing and fundamentals, so he can wait for his chance without absorbing too much incoming. Usyk has to be on point all 12 rounds. But Usyk would make Ruiz look foolish.
Loses to both, imo. Although if AJ implodes after losing to Ruiz in the rematch, I could see Usyk beating an even more fragile AJ.
Interesting...has Chazz sparred both of those guys before? Otherwise he's what, pulling this from his ass?
Wow, even Sky has it erroneously listed as "Usyk's heavyweight debut" in their video title? You'd think a big outfit like them could spare an intern to do a modicum of research to keep them from looking fools.
My take from Usyk in the heavyweights is, if he can force fighters to punch more and tire them out, he'll win by UD or late KO. I only see Usyk winning late since he's a slow starter
Southpaws are custom made for Joshua. On top of having a long jab it would really take away what Usyk does best and that's out work guys and use his jab to keep fighters in control, he does this mostly by using his right hand as a measuring stick touching oppoents gloves,AJ will not just stand there when he does this. Ruiz doesn't have the footwork to get to Usyk and that middle ground /center ring counter punching with short arms is clearly going to be less effective then what Joshua does, long counter rights is the way to go ,not a 6'0 heavy foot lunging from distance .I don't expect Ruiz to win anyway so the odds of Usyk vs Ruiz is less seeable. Im prepared for a Joshua / Usyk fight ,the southpaw angle is a big disadvantage here , Joshua will pose much more obstacle for Usyk then anyone else.
