And of course, Alan Rudkin at Bantamweight. He'd probably be a multiple weight champ today.

Tommy Ryan was Welterweight champion before him, as were others, including Mysterious Billy Smith. Paddy Duffy is often listed before Ryan, but his claim is more disputed.

Walcott was the Welterweight champion, I've not seen a lineage that excludes him. It's fairly well known Sam Langford challenged him too.

Utter nonsense. Who was "officially" deciding who was champion at this time and on what basis?

British Empire or Australian??? Tommy Ryan was from New York State, Paddy Duffy was from Boston, Mysterious Billy Smith was Canadian, Danny Needham was from St Paul, Rube Ferns was American.

Also LPR was dead when Walcott was champion.

Nothing was written about a world championship before 1914 :roto2lol:

Total nonsense. The first bout considered to be for a world title was in 1860. The idea of not recognising the early champions, even though they were recognised, in some cases basically universally at the time, is absurd.

    Where you said
No it wasn't, that was the first time that the Heavyweight title changed hands under the MoQ rules.
