he has a question mark still. david haye was a similar size, though usyk is probably natty, or as close to it as possible for an athlete, whereas haye had a lot of roid induced muscle mass. But Haye had a punch which got him to the B+/A- level in the heavyweight scene (division was much weaker then though, mind). Usyk doesn't have that punch. What stops a big top 10 heavyweight just mauling him and wearing him down with his weight?
As good as Holyfield was and turned out to be at the time he went up to heavyweight he was not expected to give the much bigger, stronger and more powerful top Heavyweights that many problems. Obviously there were some people who thought he could give some of them terrors and maybe pick up a version of the heavyweight title in the process but the majority didn't believe he would turn out to be one of the very top guys. I'm seeing the same sort of reactions to Usyk, some believe he isn't big enough, powerful enough and some believe he has all the tools to do it. Only time will tell, I'm not one way or the other completely, I can see ways Usyk could beat all the top Heavyweights and I can also see ways he can lose to them all. I think just like Holyfield the proof will be in the pudding, until then the debates and arguments will continue.
I think Usyk should have dropped his hands and eaten a 1-2 straight down the pipe from Chazz to test his chin. Would have given him a gauge of whether he could take the power from a big heavyweight. As it is his chin is still unproven at heavyweight.
I forgot about Nelson and Bellew. He's up there as one of the best Cruisers of all time, although in this thread I learned that Alvarez is a B+ fighter and Mayweather fought a better version of him than Golovkin did. Everyday is a school day.
