https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/50066825 Very sad news - theses fatalities always bring home the dangers of this sport - they deserve huge respect.
Sad to hear, by all accounts he was a great person who didn't need to box but chose too, just shows the love he had for the sport when he had many opportunities yet chose to box. RIP.
Really sad news. I watched the pre fight presser last week and was so impressed with how he spoke and how nice he came across. Almost didn’t seem like a boxer and would have been a good got on tv. Really gutted when I found out what happened to him post fight. I hope his family are looked after and Conwell is also offered support.
Just this weekend I was talking with a friend of mine, an amateur boxer, who has been on at me for years to give it a real go, it's things like this that make you really realise that this is a brutal sport and not something to be taken lightly. I can't handle seeing all these pictures of him looking so happy and smiling, seeing the condition he got himself into for fights, how passionate he was about what he did, it just breaks me seeing that and that's before you even think about what his family and friends are now going through. RIP Patrick Day
Heartbreaking and certainly makes you sit up and think. Not much else to say other than rest easy, champ.
Terrible news. Seems to have been a very bad year for boxing this. Can only imagine poor conwell too.
