There are questions to be answered regarding Prograis. I think we all know what Taylor brings.

I still fancy Prograis but I'm not confident.

I think Prograis does him, too. Would love to be wrong on it though.

Prograis hits hard and is very versatile. Giving away height and reach doesn't seem to bother him. He is patient too, with good movement. He picks his moments and strikes with deadly effect to head and body. He really is a very big puncher, really deadly to head and body. I don't think he gets enough credit for how hard he hits. Taylor stands very straight with his head up in the air and I can see Regis having little trouble landing on him enough to do damage. Maybe Prograis on points or late stoppage. Taylor is big and good. But overrated.Taylor is overrated. Prograis is underrated.

If Taylor deals with the upper body movement, he can make it look comfortable. Prograis throws wide and technically flawed. His timing, punch technique and compactness all lack compared to Taylor. JT wins the exchanges, better hooker too by a distance. Prograis feet coming forward are horrid. If Taylor brings him on to him, he’ll beat the **** out of him. RP has to use same lateral movement of last two fights, all his baiting and counters and hope he hurts Taylor to keep him off.

Honestly, I think as fight goes on people will be shocked at skill difference. Another case of a great talker with swagger, who fights an athletic style made to look scarier than he really is. Technique has gone out the window nowadays, this kid RP isn’t Tank Davis. There’s a fighter who is explosive, dynamic, compact, power with good timing who dwarfs RP talent wise. I’ve never been so underwhelmed by someone made out to be so good.

Hype, hype and more hype. I’ve yet to see INE breakdown, tactically and technically that has made me doubt my pick. Honestly it’s like watching the pied piper at work, everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

I respect a lot of views on this forum so post is a little direct for my style but I’ll eat my words and take my lumps if I’m wrong.

But Taylor is better, if not always a huge margin at almost all the major important skills of a fight. I’ve yet to be impressed with RP walking someone down, he’s won doing it at a level but he gets touched way more than Taylor when he does it. That leaves RP the counter puncher, who counters in singles. Good luck with that.

Taylor is huge, strong, great chin, engine, accurate and strong willed. Prograis better be the beast he’s proclaimed to be and a lot better that I’ve seen.

Watch Relikh-Burns or Relikh-Troyanovsky more recently, he’s a poor fighter at top level. Relikh-Troya was worst quarter final quality wise by a distance, and he was in horrible shape vs RP. Taylor stops him and Flanagan.

I’ve said it before. Mario Barrios done Velasco way more impressive but struggled on his next step up. RP has those knockdowns vs Velasco, one vs Turbo and one vs Relikh in about 24 rounds roughly. Taylor knockdowns vs Ivan and Postol, not to mention OD more impressive timing and technique than anything Regis has shown. You just don’t develop that timing over night. He has the In to see it, no doubt but not the technique to pull it off. Let’s see come October 26. A great clash of styles and personalities, I can’t wait.

More a forum post as reply to you Twenty but I respect you’re opinion so I quoted you :)

Versatile how sorry? Elaborate please. Big power but if timing matched he’d score countless scary KO’s. He doesn’t have the timing or technique to match the power.

This is first time in a while where there's been a genuine 50 - 50 fight and I'm not all that arsed who wins... I think josh Taylor is class but him being hurt by postol.. Who while good isn't exactly a puncher worries me ... On the flip side Taylor showed great grit and determination and fought his way to a well earned win.

Prograis I find to be a very likeable guy.. Like how he fights, like how he is as a person and the way he talks and who doesn't love a skilled puncher

May the best man win.... Can't wait

Thanks bud. That was proper in depth and I hope you’re right. I will be cheering on Taylor though. I’m just concerned that he can’t help but over commit at times. He’s very very tough and has no qualms in getting involved in a scrap when arguably he doesn’t really have to. He’s that good he can just box but there’s that ego of his where he wants to show that he’s not only the better boxer but the tougher man.

Can’t wait for it, though. It’s going to be a belting fight. And nowt wrong with being wrong pal. It’s fun to have a punt on how we see things panning out.
