Michael Spinks at light heavy also hit very hard, had a good stamina and his chin for that weight wasn't bad either
Completely agree. He stopped Meehan and Norfolk, both good for with good chins. Also stopped Flynn, Ashe and Wiggins. All were tough men and hard to KO. And I was aiming for an out of the box pick.
I rewatched the early rounds when Gvozdyk was sharp. AB covers up well. He has the build for it. Shorter torso, and big arms. His high glove guard covers his head, and his arms and elbows cover most of the side of his body. Not a slip and duck type of defense, it works for him. What power, once he lands, the other guy is hurt right away. I rarely give Atlas praise but I think his instructions were solid outside of when hurt don't run away wounded, clinch. Then again AB is a real force up close.
I still say that prime Kovalev would have beaten Beterbiev. Kovalev has better timing and judgement of distance than Gvozdyk and when he was prime he punched harder.
yep, and Beterbiev has excellent footwork and fundamentals. His footwork keeps him balanced and allows him to punch with power with almost every punch. His punches are short, making them hard to see. Beterbiev is an aggressive, highly skilled fighter.
Michael Moorer finished up at 21-0 21 KOs at LHW which is damn impressive but he didn't beat anyone at the level of Gvozdyk to do that or unify for that matter.
