    That’s what he’s claiming.

One things for sure, Asberry will get his name out amongst the boxing public when this story gains momentum. Not doubting his version of events just yet but clearly he will gain a lot of publicity from this. People will look out for his next fight.

Which is definitely why he’s aired it in public.

Generally you can get to some sort of sense, but this seems senseless? Isn't the point of sparring partners that you choose those who fit the brief, that you prepare for the main event using the best of their ability? Where is there any sense in sparking out sparring partners unfairly?

Sounds exactly like something a gypsy would do to be fair. His dad gouges peoples eyeballs out and his friend Saunders lets his wee son drive about fields unaccompanied. Totally believable and why would this guy just randomly lie? But yeah could be a lie, I mean people lie all the time, look at Fury he lies a ton himself lol.

Would explain the sparking people in sparring but never in a fight I suppose.

But no part of this makes sense

If he sparred with Tyson in the Peter Fury days maybe it's linked with that, a way of getting at Tyson after he left Peter? I dunno?

Why would Fury leave the gloves on display for all to see? :D

Maybe he had been giving him trouble in previous spars and couldn't handle it so wanted to get him out of there

Tony Hayers lurking in the thread, absolutely frothing at the mouth with rage, holding firm with his anger but he will vent his Fury rage soon on other threads.

The alleged incident happened during the Wilder fight buildup apparently.. so why publicise it now?

It's making more sense now. There is a tweet by boxingcoachbarry which states "they were trying to hurt sparring partners so he could gain confidence. The gloves were changed the next day." - and there is also a reply from BendDavison_ which also seems legit, apologising without owning up to it.

If this is true it's pretty shocking to have one over on your sparring guys. I've learned to treat such things with suspicion, but the video alongside the tweets and the people copied into the tweets suggest it happened.

When you throw in the fact that he's the son of the eye gouging in front of someone's son John Fury a little more weight could be added to. Tyson has done well to market himself as a reformed character and the poster boy for mental health awareness but I think cracks in this veneer will always be not too far around the corner, regardless of whether this current story is true or not.
