Did Gvosdyk lose his killer instinct because of the Stevenson fight?

It happend with Mike Perez recent and also more infamously Ray Mancini vs Dok ku kim.
Fighters hurt others badly end their career and in Ray's case a guys life.

They are human they know what they sign up for, and Stevenson was no saint. But, I think Gvosdyk maybe always felt guilty. It's not as far fetched as it sounds. not knowing if you're opponent will ever wake up again when you are a very Kind and caring person like Gvosdyk to begin with. It might have effected him Psychologically.

No Gvozdyk just excels from mid-long range and has really good footwork. He's not a good inside fighter.

it's also possible his body language in the later rounds, which some suggest was defeated, was at least partly induced by the damaging nature of the sport pervading his mind. i'm no boxer but it'd be hard to not have the news of Day on my mind, or, being the man who put Adonis into a coma just months prior, not have that imagery blinding my focus in the heat of a toe to toe beatdown. again though, i'm a guy who'd choose to not box pro for the sake of my health whereas these guys know the risks and have the mindset for it. still though, they're only human.

Quite possible. I thought he looked unsure of himself, footwork looked awkward and he wasn’t sitting down on his punches. Failed to get Arturs respect.

Never seen him fight before, so with unbiased eyes, he looked like he came to fight. Threw & landed a nice amount. Looked like he lost because the other guy was better.

    And the winner's D wasn't all that.

He was trying to sit on his punches as well. The problem is... that his straight right is not powerful enough. Because his stance is too frontal—less power to the right hand, more power to the left. Unfortunately, he seldom uses his short left hook nowadays.

So, Gvozdyk is kind of lost stylistically—he doesn't know how he wants to fight now: to be a backfoot runner or a power-puncher. As a result, he makes a lot of unnecessary movement and his punches are not powerful enough...

Anyway, the Stevenson fight made little effect on Gvozdyk. The Karpency fight was more of a key point.

He sat down on plenty of his punches and nailed Beterbiev with many hard punches that would have flattened lesser opponents. He simply lost to the better man on the night.

The problem with Gvozdyk yesterday was mental, not physical. I wrote this on the second round:

"Gvozdyk is really scared of AB"

Beterbiev had stopped Gvozdyk in the amateurs and that was in Gvozdyk's head the whole time. He was visibly scared of AB from the get go. I guess he was hoping he could work his way to a decision win from range but he quickly discovered that wasn't gonna happen so once his early fight energy deteriorated and he sustained some damage it proved too difficult for him to keep AB in bay. From that point on, the knock out was only a matter of time.

Scared - I don't believe so. He was giving Beterbiev a boxing lesson in places. As the naturally much better boxer he'd have been an idiot to throw all the chips on a shootout. Was Hearns really scared of Hagler? No. But likewise, as the faster and rangier boxer, it was a good plan for him to pick MMH apart. Beterbiev was simply too tough and composed and basically broke the less physical man down. That's all.

I think Gvozdyk was a little wary of Artur's power, but he gave it all he had. It must take a lot of mental and physical energy to beat a man like AB by boxing for 12 rounds. He hit Beterbiev with some hard shots, but didn't have the real power to deter him and AB is relentless if he knows he's hurt you.
