If so, did he make it more for vanity (his popularity is huge now) or for strategy? For me it was better if he remained fat.. A your opinion.
I'd be surprised if his punch resistance hasn't decreased, with AJ dropping weight too this will probably be a foty candidate.
If that's true. He's definitely getting knocked out. Rapid mass decline especially when you've been carrying it for ages is never a good thing. That being said I very strongly doubt he's lost that much weight.
44 pounds in a few months? Is that possible or even safe for a boxer who has to be in top physical fighting shape?
What was he before he lost 44 pounds? He might be close to where he was vs AJ in the first fight for all we know. Ruiz would be best served at 230-235 pounds.
I can't think of any time major weight loss has helped a HW. Riddick Bowe lost quite a bit of weight to rematch with Golota and he looked anemic throughout that fight
Ruiz has fast hands, good power and can take a punch, but he's very conservative at times in term of throwing punches, because he's too fat. If AJ gets his jab going, the fight should be his. Then again he gets hurt too easily and does not know how to clinch or react when hurt.
