Rocky had one hell of a shot, too. I still think Larry carried Ali for a couple of the early rounds. He couldn't bring himself to stop Ali early. Unfortunately, that might have been one of the biggest mistakes related to that awful spectacle.

Angelo stops the fight after round five with Ali taking way too much punishment and asking for more.

Me having an Marciano fixation? I did criticise Liston for what he really did. Or stating a controversy about Tyson, because he never fought any Tuas, Ibeabuchis or iron chinned fighters to never take any step back. Or Rocky and Dempsey for that instance? Or evaluating young Foreman beeing extremely open, leading to the Lyle debacle. The evaluation about broke Louis came up with a question about Ron Lyle too in another thread.

I don´t know where you come from, but I´m pretty sure you´re totally aware of the negligence of boxing changes along 100 years of HW boxing. An equity agenda so absurd, almost every other boxing community, including the General, having a laugh for the day.
Marciano has become a deputy wildcard in that instance. Fixation? I guess mrkoolkevin, Seamus, PatM, mcvey and dozen others have that fixation too, whenever totally resume-distinct assertions come up, hm? All haters, right? Or might that be a perspective of rationalism?

You want to see real Marciano fixation for that instance?

Career ending 218lb Louis as a modern HW standard, proving Rocky put such fellows into his resume? Pushing up the exact same Louis, but crying out loud when I put him against other ATGs at the same stage of their career, the same league Rocky has to play trice a week on this board ?
    Refreshing the own episteme virally.
You know perfectly fine what weasely game reznick is trying to come up with, of course getting unmasked quickly on that cheap agenda. All over again.

Those threads expose the hypocrisy in a pervasive yet unsubstantiated argument. Some of my finest work.

People define SHW through weight. Yet put up arbitrary goal posts depending on which fighter they like or don’t like. Bad argument.

And your thread on Louis previous wasn't designed to push your own agenda? Come on you and Rez are playing the same game from different standpoints. It's as obvious as the nose on your face and most of us can see that.

Using General forum opinion to back your argument is pretty pointless considering the ignorance that is constantly displayed on that forum, as is naming Seamus who just recently claimed that 170lb Harry Greb could feasibly beat 215lb Holyfield of the 1st Moorer fight.

Most of us are over these back and forth debates that will never ever be resolved and are literally impossible to prove or disprove. It makes me wonder what you get out of constantly rehashing this sh1t.

Holy looked ill in the first Moorer fight, it was a weird flat kind of fight.

    It’s a completely stupid thread.

Ali was COMPLETELY shot as a fighter when he fought Holmes and over and above this a very sick man. He stated afterwards that he knew after round one he could not win.

Putting a close to prime Marciano in that ring vs Ali that night changes nothing concerning Alis condition.

However Ali was a survivor and he could have hung in there using his reach and what little he had left the first five or so rounds. Then it becomes an Ali holding fest with Ali holding onto Rocky as he did Frazier in fight two. If the ref allows this the bout could get into the later rounds before Alis ill health causes a stoppage. If the ref does not allow holding Ali won’t see round ten.

    He did.

It's still a massive stretch to think a 6 inches shorter, 7 inches shorter reach, 45 pound lighter, non puncher beats even that Holyfield especially one that nobody living has seen fight at all.

Anyway it's moot. The point was that Seamus may not be quite the modernist ally that the Carnera guy thinks he is and mcvey definitely isn't.

Ali constantly threw fast hooks in the second Frazier bout and hurt Joe in the second round, he was also in better shape than in their first clash and got near to his prime speed again.
