i never said anything about liking him, hes not someone i would have been friends with in the real world. im grading his knowledge and analytical abilities. i dont need a cheerleader to side with me when calling a fight, i want someone that knows boxing and gives me a consistent honest opinion.

But Max didnt Say that. He Said (and he was WRONG) that the guy quit. He didn't quit. I even tweeted to Max about that. Gary Rosato Said 1 more KD and I'm stopping. After the third KD, Gary did that. I'm sure Gvozdyk would have Fought till the end if the the ref didnt stop them.

Whatever, my opinion still stands, this is nothing new, I've hated Kellerman for years and still think he's a piece of ****. He's a fanboy, not a commentator.

Where do folk get the impression that he's so knowledgeable about boxing? From my limited understanding as someone who only knows those in or around the top of most divisions-- Kellerman strikes me as that along with some knowledge of the past(as he should do ffs it's his job). That doesn't come close to a lot on here who will be asking what time two little known Japanese guys are fighting, scary knowledge about amateur careers and the history on top of this lol.
I also think folk kiss his behind on account of his class which I can't stand as you can see he's very used to it.

I’ve just rewatched the fight. After the 9th round Gvozdyk was beaten up and exhausted—he wasn’t even able to walk straight into his corner. And then comes a very important moment—Gvozdyk mumbles something to what Teddy replies “What?”

Did he say “I’m f***ed up”? I’m not sure, I have problems deciphering that... But immediately after that Gvozdyk said “I’m good!”

    P.S. Here it is:

I don't think some people realize how heavy Beterbiev's shots are. Even the ones that don't look hard are very weighty and hurtful.

    Beterbiev doesn't just sport a KO 100%

He sports a KO 100% despite the fact that many of his opponents had never been stopped or even off their feet before

And only 3 of his opponents have made it past 5 rounds

KO 5 Hot Rod - never been dropped (legit KD) or stopped
KO 4 Callum Johnson - never been dropped or stopped
KO 12 Enrico Koelling - never been (AFAIA) dropped or stopped
TKO 1 Isrado Prieto - never been stopped, down once before albeit it was questionable
TKO 4 Ezequiel Maderna - had never been stopped
TKO7 Alexander Johnson - never been stopped
    KO 4 Gabriel Campillo
KO2 Jeff Page Jr - had never been stopped
KO 2 Tavouris Cloud - had never been off his feet, stopped once on a corner retirement in round 7 by Adonis Stevenson
    TKO 1 Alvaro Enriquez
    TKO 4 Gabriel Lecrosnier
    KO 1 Bill Bailey
RTD 3 Rayco Saunders - had only been stopped once in 45 fights
    TKO 2 Christian Cruz

Took too much imo?I've no interest in seeing the inevitable knockout as you're on pins the whole time, thinking of the consequences. The initial body shot that caused the time out was so well placed.

Yep, he was "putting water in the basement" as Teddy would say.

I think that mumble had as much to do with Atlas's hand on the guys mouth guard as anything.

I dont dispute the point that Gvozdyk was getting wore down though. Teddy saw it and tried to inspire his fighter but the dude was done.

But, after thinking carefully about it again and again, I do not think Gvozdyk quit. Did he feel at least somewhat uneasy before the fight and maybe even during the fight (even if from the first round during the whole fight)? Yes, most probably. And who wouldn't facing a monster like Beterbiev? Especially if you already lost to him in the past. Is it possible that at some point a thought about quitting crossed Gvozdyk’s mind? Yes, it is. But mostly he was beaten by a better fighter and out of gas.

Is Gvozdyk a perfect or even complete fighter? No. He’s still trying to change and find his optimal style as a professional boxer. Will he be able to do that in the future? Who knows, he doesn’t have much time left, only several years of his prime. But let’s hope this loss will give him additional motivation and Gvozdyk will learn from it and get better.
