It’s been set in stone before Haney claimed Loma was ducking him that Lomachenko was to fight the winner of Commey and Lopez, two fighters if we are to be truthful are more deserving at this moment in time than Haney, plus it’s a unification fight. Unify then look at Haney, Haney is fighting TBA on an undercard of 2 YouTubers ffs.
The Franchise belt is something to worry about as it seems to keep the top guys away from each other , belts like the WBA Regular aren't as as bad as its just a belt for lower tier guys to fight for. The Franchise belt is a disgrace ans needs to be abolished. It has nothing got to do with Loma either. Imagine Wilder gets Franchised and then Whyte gets promoted to to WBC Champ. Whats to stop Joshua then making an undisputed fight with Whyte if he beats Ruiz? Undisputed against a guy he already knocked out??. Its a joke.. Shame on he WBC

What are you on about?! I'm a big Loma fan and I'm furious! The WBC took his chance to become undisputed with this sh_t move of theirs. They took his belt for no reason to hand it to someone else, that's what happened. And not because he refused to defend it Canelo style, but because they wanted to give Haney the belt. Fanchise belt means nothing at all. F_CK THE WBC!
This is spot on. Boxing is becoming a very niche sport here in the UK, and a big part of the reason IMO is the endless proliferation of belts rendering them all collectively meaningless.

I liked their approach initially, they used independent rankings and their top ten looked a lot more realistic than the others organisations. Not sure what prompted the change?
Its ridiculous. I dont think there has been a time in boxing history where to be a 'world champion' means as little as it does now. These so called governing bodies have very little respect for what it means to be a champion, instead they exploit the percieved prestige of their increasingly worthless titles to squeeze as much money from sanctioning fees as they can. Its nonesense and creating confusion which puts off casual and hardcore fans alike from the sport.
The same for me, but then we started to get ridiculous titlefights from them with completely undeserving boxers which put them back in the minor jar for me.
A franchise is something anyone can buy for the right money - so sums up WBC nicely and is a very apt name. Not saying Loma has done this btw - he's a fantastic fighter who deserves his belts. Actually a shame WBC is making a mockery of his achievements with this ridiculous "belt".
On the plus side it gives us all hope of being world champions. Get your brown bags into the WBC/WBA and soon you will have a belt to show off to friends and family.
