****ing hell Ruslan Myrsatayev vs Yury Bykhautsou was arse

 

1-Islam leaps in, likely looking to a surprise attack, but then almost aborts his leap, a little bit of posturing from both before Islam comes forward, lands a body shot, then gets on the move, Kautondokwa lands a right up top, and a left, then takes another body shot, Islam looks REALLY tiny in there. All the pressure is coming from Kautondokwa but it's as effective as my chat up lines and Islam is picking him off as he comes forward.

 

2-Kautondokwa again on the front foot but not doing much more than following Islam around, Islam looks so much sharper than Kautondokwa but still not doing much himself, nice body shot from Islam and a right hand up top, Islam with a flourish as he pins Kautondokwa in the corner, Kautondokwa fires back but another solid right from Islam who is getting into second gear

Ignore then final 30 seconds of that round and it was ****....the final 30 seconds made it bearable

 

3-Islam moving a lot and Kautondokwa happily following him around the ring, being led a merry dance, nice little touches from Islam and a lovely little uppercut on the inside, a good short right from Kautondokwa gets Islam backing up, a right up top from Islam, Kautondokwa is stepping up his output a bit now and Islam is taking to taking to the ropes a bit too much, nice 2-punch combo from Islam with a very good body shot

 

4-Islam starting a bit faster here and landing a good right, then back to the pattern of him backing off and Kautondokwa following him like a love sick puppy, they land a jab each, Islam falls just short with a right but follows up with a good body shot, more ineffective pressure from Kautondokwa, a leaping left hook from Islam, and a clean right hand, a left to the body from Islam, a 1-2 from Islam, a left to the body and a right up top from Islam, slappy body shots from Kautondokwa in the clinch, lovely 3 punch salvo from Islam

They keys offensively has been Islam's looping right hands up top and very sharp body shots.

 

5-More pressure from Kautondokwa that looks as useful as a chocolate teapot at a picnic in the middle of summer, huge hook from Islam wobbled Kautondokwa - first time he's been visibly shaken, but he's recovered well as is flailing wild shots at Islam...well I say recovered well, a right hand drops him...he's hurt...he and the referee exchange some sweet nothings as they whisper into each other's ears before the fight resumes. Islam is going for this ans both are firing off bombs, Islam seems to be constantly off balance all of a sudden and Kautondokwa is still hurt, huge body shot from Islam, Kautondokwa fires back to the bell.

Holy **** that came alive!

 

6-Kautondokwa on the front foot again and now he's finally using his reach to try and get his jab into play with some bad intentions, Islam on the retreat, Islam holding up close...do wonder if he took more out of himself in the last round than he wanted to. Islam moving a lot and not throwing much, Kautondokwa pressing with some desire now and flicking the jab out, Islam tries to let his own jab go, 2 minutes into the round and this is a clear one for Kautondokwa so far, Islam holding a lot and not doing anything offensive...20 seconds left and Islam lets a combination go... first Kautondokwa round

 

7-A left hook from Islam but it seemed like a token power shot rather than anything serious, Kautondokwa then begins to press and is having success, Islam on the retreat again and holding when he needs to, loud "Kanat" chant, but their man might need more than just a chant the way he's looking, more holding and wrestling from Islam who is warned by and pushed by the referee, Islam trying to slip and slide, left hook from Islam, he continues to back off, a left uppercut from Islam, again back on the move, a left hook to the body from Islam

Given how Islam isn't throwing more than 3 or 4 rights the last 2 rounds I'm guessing he's injured it

 

8-More of the same from the last 2 rounds. Islam doing little more than slipping and running, Kautondokwa trying to press with mixed success, big right from Kautondokwa lands clean, Islam only seemed to be clinching with his left, a huge but wild right from Islam-maybe a token suggestion that it's fine, Kautondokwa's accuracy is making life relatively easy for Islam to survive but he's doing something and is clearly taking these last few rounds. Islam finished the round in the southpaw stance...interesting

 

9-Islam trying to time a counter left hook, a right hand from Islam - hey it is still there! But he misses with a follow up, Kautondokwa down as the two wrestle, more wrestling when they continue, Kautondokwa looking to get left hook happy, a right from Islam connects, more wrestling...hey Ben Askren this is how it's done! Looks like Islam is happy to just spoil his way to the final bell now, a right cross left hook from Islam late

 

10-If Islam stays up he likely wins by a point on my card...Islam running, slipping, sliding and glad it's only a 10 round, Kautondokwa trying to walk him down, still not enough from Kautondokwa though, nice combination from Kautondokwa with Islam on the ropes, Islam is stumbling all over the ring! He gets his composure before Kautondokwa can pounce, 1 minute left and this is going to be a very long minute for Islam who just spent, they trade and Islam gets the better of it, now more wrestling, Islam trying to see out the clock, 20 seconds left, 15, 10, 5, 3,2,1...Islam survives!
