So did the ref stop it or did his corner throw in the towel? I saw the towel fly in but wasn't sure if it was already over when that happened.
I'd go with that too, to soft imo, even to the point he cant throw his monster shots anymore, he doesn't even have a punchers chance it seems at this stage. Good bloke who I would like to see in commentary, but saying that, hes probably to decent to point out what fighters are doing wrong lol and we'd all be slagging him for being to nice again..Top man Pricey
Price simply does not have the body mechanics or co-ordination to be top flight. It's purely a matter of genetics. Watch from 4:10 onwards This content is protected
This is how you keep Chisora off you and you have to do it for 12 rounds! This content is protected Unless you can KO him!!
I wouldn't call him a journeyman, he is a strong, tough dude. But he is the definition a gatekeeper. He's lost every time he's stepped up. Spilka had been savagely KO'ed multiple times before the Chisora fight and his punch resistance is completely gone and hopefully he retires. Kownacki, who's not a big puncher knocked him completely senseless 2 years ago and Wilder sent him out of the ring on a stretcher 3 years ago. As for Takam, that's a nice win, but Takam was winning easily through 7 rounds until he got caught with 2 huge overhand rights and Takam's best win is probably Tony Thompson. There's no doubt Chisora can punch, he's got power and looks to be in as good of shape as he's ever been in. But comparing how fast you beat common opponents doesn't mean much. Especially dudes on the verge of retirement like Spilka and Pricey. Who you actually beat is what counts and Chisora hasn't beat any of the significant HWs he's fought. He's lost to Whyte twice, Fury twice, Kayabel, Pulev, Helenius, Klitschko, and Haye. Takam is his best win and he struggled mightily with him until he iced him. I enjoy watching Chisora, he comes to throwdown, but he's proven over his career that he's not a top HW.
Price could have had a 14 week camp focusing purely on Chisora and he still would have lost. He could had the best camp ever, best sparring ever and best diet ever and he still would have lost. Chisora is all wrong for Price. Price doesnt do well against pressure fighters who like to fight on the inside, and are aggressive. Tony Thompson took his soul away in the second fight and since then everyone has known how to beat him. Following this fight he also developed Punchitis. An inability to deliver shots when the openings, present themselves. He also stopped knocking opponents out in devastating fashion early. He lacks the movement and stamina to stay away from the ropes or an inside fight for 12 rounds. His biggest weakness is his lack of punch resistance. He also looks at time to lack fighting heart and willingness to dig deep. We saw this in the Tony Thompson second fight, the Kuzmin quit job and the Christian Hammer fight.
This dude should stop boxing. This is crazy. Because if/when he gets disabled (or even worse...) people will start talking about "ban boxing!" again.
I saw Price tired last night and his shots didnt seem as terrific as in other bouts. As mentioned by many here, Price doesnt move, hes static so his defence is poor. Well..as to the chin everyone knows is not good. If he continues to boxe he could have damages imo.
Price never had the body mechanic or muscle structure of the Klitschkos. His co ordination was never as refined and never could have been either. Its purely a question of genetics.
Agree, would like to see him still around boxing in commentary. I feel sorry for him, with everything people say about him. I really enjoyed his fight last night, and he has given fans what they wanted, by trying and trying again, many boxers that came through the ranks with his status would just give up. Wish him all the best.
