Why are y’all saying 8-4 is ok but 117-112 is ‘ridiculous’

117-112 is just the 8-4 but with one Prograis round scored a draw, hardly that outlandish

I thought the 117-112 (8-3-1) card for Taylor was a more realistic score than a 115-113 (7-5) for Prograis. Put it this way, the people out there who had for Prograis are in an extreme minority. Even most of the American boxing writers scored it for Taylor, including Steve Kim, Doug Fischer, and Michael Montero. Al Bernstein, a real good boxing analyst that works for Showtime, and who commentated on many Top Rank fights from the ‘80s involving Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran, thought the 114-114 and 115-113 were a bit off. Al felt Prograis won about 4 rounds.

Posted on another thread but RP landed (a lot more) jabs and slightly more power punches.

CompuBox stats below for those interested. Saw a lot of people score round 1 to Taylor but it was one of the clearest rounds to RP imo and stats backed that up, so found that surprising.

Personally had it 7-5 to RP. 7-5 either way or a draw I guess is fine, given home advantage, crowd noise etc.

Usually looking at the power punch stats of each round is a good starter, as peoples scoring tends to correspond with that.

So on that basis I can see how people would give Taylor rounds 3,4, 5,6,7, 9 & 10.

I personally gave Taylor 5-7 and 9&10 so 5 rounds.

It's not a robbery could of gone either way.

Robbery?? Do me a favor. Taylor win clearly for me, he would beat him more convincingly a second time around.

I had progais winning rounds 4,11 & 12 and I had Taylor winning all the rest of rounds (granted some these rounds weere close).
