Well considering Kovalev is 37 next, coming off two recent KO losses & has almost zero spring left in his step I'd say it's pretty obvious.. the guy has a jab left these days & little else.. there's a reason they chose him.. name recognition.. Kovalev looks spent.. & they know it.. there's about 9 years age difference.. I'm fine with him cashing in though, he's earned it.. the win won't mean that much in retrospect whether the fanboys want to play it up or not.. Kovalev is almost done..
Canelo had no answer for the Golovkin jab. Golovkin is pretty much the same size and has the same reach as Canelo. Kov has a very good jab, has a big reach advantage. Add into the mix that Canelo has never been in at 175. This is why I am going for Kovalev.
Small sized ??? Roflmao Its just clenelo's stubby short little legs makes him look little. He was a legit 160 pounder from day 1 but was scared to risk fighting GGG. Wonder how he's put on 20 pounds to make 175?? lol On fight night he'll probably outweigh Kovalev anyway
Folks are wondering why Canelo is the bookies fav?? I'd have thought it was obvious. Everyone & his dog know that in Vegas if Canelo is standing at the final bell he cannot lose.Thats been proven time & time again I'd love to see a 100% fair fight with no corruption with the better man on the night getting the win but little chance of that in Vegas My heart says Kovalev. but only fools bet against Canelo in Vegas
Boxing fans can be soooo funny. ANYONE who knows ANYTHING about boxing knows Kov is shot to pieces. Sure he might get lucky and land the bomb because he has the punch but its a minimal chance and Canelos people know it. He doesnt have the legs to outbox Canelo and the longer the bout goes Canelos chances increase. But on PAPER the win looks GREAT. One thing I know-Canelo wont go near ANY of the other champions in that division because he would get ran over.
I have. Several times. Put your money where your mouth is and show me these 15 low blows with time stamps on the video. I bet you cant without looking like a fool.
A shot to pieces fighter wouldn't decisively beat two very talented undefeated fighters back to back.
Cut the ****, if Canelo beats him, it'll mean he is shot to pieces, and if Kovalev beats Canelo, you'll say it's because Canelo was too small. But hey! Daring to be grrrrrrrrreat, right?
Kovalev proved against Yarde he can come back from being hurt badly. I think the Colombian Alvarez and Yarde are tougher opponents than most people realize. Two massive, athletic light heavy weights.
I think that Kovalev today is not a patch on when he was prime. But he did show grit against Yarde and that he can take a punch. Canelo is hoping that the short turn-around from Yarde and the beating Kovalev took in that fight will mean he's ripe for the kill. I'm hoping that the short turn around means that Kovalev has no time to drink and party and get out of shape. If we get a strong Kovalev then Canelo is in deep crap.
It could be another “let’s not make either fighter look bad” sparring match like Jacobs or ggg fights.
