Ali regained most of his form in the early 70s. He was blazing fast, a tad stronger. Lewis presents problems because he is powerful along with good boxing skills and good ring IQ. Like if you combined Foreman and Norton. That is a tall mountain to climb.

I'd lean only slightly toward Ali.

67 Ali would win a decision but there'd be little shucking and jiving. Lewis' size, power and co-ordination for a giant would make him earn his money. Lewis would go better against the post exile version but the best of that version was also a heckuva fighter. Someone has to be the best and it's Ali for me.

 

I'd actually fancy Lewis at his best. He's got all the tools to give Ali some real problems. Ali would have to fight a much better fight than Lewis would have to. If Ali got sloppy Lewis could switch him off in an instant.
