Would have wins over Golovkin and Kovalev in 2019.. This kid is crazy good, but it also shows how special Floyd was for easily shutting him out 12-0 without breaking a sweat.
Larger fighters with slower feet help Canelo plus he has more experience is not weight drained and clearly has juiced several times. Big difference from Floyd. Let the man enjoy his retirement
It just shows that there are levels to boxing! Floyd was so far ahead of every boxer of his generation, and this generation too.
The age and experience difference at that time was remarkable between the two. I was in Thailand wasted as a young kid when that fight was on...now I feel an old man, so really feels ages ago!
Canelo could have a million years more of experience, Floyd would have also made him look silly. But I feel you, that was a life time ago. Back when Broner was considered p4p lol.
As some people love to say on here: "This makes Floyd's stock go up!". Floyd Mayweather aka Pretty Boy aka Money Mayweather aka TBE was a generational talent and living legend. His ring IQ, boxing brain, ring generalship, fighting IQ, speed, adjustments and so many other attributes will never be matched. No other fighter since Floyd is even close to him. He is unmatched and unparalleled. Tonight, again Floyd's stock went up.
Floyd after he whooped canelo he put his arm round his shoulder and he said "you are a good kid, take this torch and carry it for North America, I belive in you" True Story and I belive canelo heard those words in his minds eye tonight.
Funnily that was the easiest fight for Floyd, Maidana and Guerrero gave Floyd better fights than Clenelo who lost 0-12.
I don't think the Guerrero fight was really competitive at all, but I agree it was more competitive than Canelo. Maidana 1 definitely though. That's the only style that could trouble Floyd at that point in his career. We know GGG, Canelo, etc can't fight like that.
It's actually quite sad how "fans" love to forget about things that hurt them in their feelings. When they look at Floyd they say no power, no combinations, low activity etc. but they wilfully forget the fact that Floyd was an offensive machine and a KO artist in the 20's. He had so many injuries and surgeries that his style had to be adapted for his 30's. Even then, still nobody could get to him.
