No dive there. But there was something not right about the fight. Kov just didn't look like he wanted to take his man out. Maybe he can't anymore, but there were a few times early in the fight when I think he could have gone harder for the KO and maybe got it. And the judges scores pointed to, at a minimum, bias. We'll have to wait and see how Canelo does against Bivol...Beterbiev level LHWs. No matter what, it is a significant achievement on Canelo's part to capture a LHW title.
Can’t believe the poll is almost even. There are many things to not like about Canelo, but he won fair and square tonight.

I just suggest a look at the facts. Kovalev 36 years old, he spent three fights this year. He had about two months after a hard fight with Yardé for preparing for a fight with Alvarez. My "verdict" is: Kovalev was in poor condition (it was obviously seen in the weighing procedure where Sergey Kovalev was slightly overweight) And if Kovaled tried throwing power punches , he would be knocked out in round 5-7.
I thought the ref stepped in way too quickly (thanks Oscar). But I don't think it was a dive, retrospectively. It was a great counter punch, and it may have been like Walcott - Marciano 2 where Kov is like 'I got nothing left'. Still, I'd be happy to change my mind with a clip lol.
