This probably goes like the Machen fight, but more competitive.

    Liston

You’d hope for Jeffries sake it’s by late stoppage but he’s a tough man so it could be a decision too.

Liston smashes his face in with an 84 inch reach and a telephone pole of a jab.

James J. Jeffries, 1904 version was one tough fighter, going up against 1959 Sonny Liston. Sonny would keep Jeff at bay with his hard left jab, bobbing and weaving, avoiding James power punches. Ali once said that,When Liston Get's Ready To Throw A Heavy Punch, His Eyes Tip You. Jeffries not realizing this, runs into the Liston left hook, and falls to the canvas, in round 5, taking the full 10 count from the referee.

Would be a painful fight for JJJ.

Jeffries struggled against a good jab, and Liston had as good a jab as anyone. If Jeff wins it will be through outlasting Liston and after an unbelievable amount of punishment. Can Jeff take it? Who knows.
