Eddie has confirmed Katie Taylor will headline a PPV card next year. Game it gone. Close the doors as you leave.
if i dont get delivered some colcannon, gravy and sausages with my ppv im kicking off! and she has to cook it!
Eddie "if you want the big fights to happen PPV is the only way to make them" Pretty sure if I remortgage my house I could pay a majority of the bloody purse.
Predicted this 2 years ago and won't affect me as I have never bought a PPV anyway but watched every fight live. On the merits of her being PPV, she is more worthy of PPV than many we have seen eating huge slices of PPV Pie including the grubs Haye v Bellew twice and Pudding Whyte numerous times - all non Title fights !!!!! Katie Taylor's fights are good to watch, full of action and she certainly entertains more than many male fighters such as Ricky Burns, Lee Selby, Tony Crolla, Hughie Fury, Paint Dry Parker ..................
I was surprised by the crowd last night. Sounded like in football at a under 21's with lots of kids and women in when she was fighting. She clearly has a different and sizeable fanbase. "Stacked" card for it and it'll do well. No issue whatesoever for me.
Women's boxing is yet to interest me. When they change it to 3 minute rounds and the standard improves I may change my mind. I'm not against female fighters, women's MMA is great but their boxing counterparts haven't caught up just yet
Even ignoring the terrible quality, most people just don't like watching women fight. It's something hardwired into us, like seeing two men kissing or holding hands, where your instinctive gut reaction is to know it's unnatural and be disgusted by it.
I can't watch them and I won't pay for it, but maybe I'm too wired as Erik suggests. The problem is that Katie is 130+ pounds, up to the 140 debut, but that's it. Junior welterweight approximately, but other than that it is non existant.
Depends on the undercard. Taylor was free on Saturday night and I didn't watch it. I definitely won't pay to see Taylor. If its bivol v buatsi and josh kelly v Benn and possibly another world title fight I would be interested.
Quite a few of the posters on here could advance their...meagre.... knowledge of boxing by watching Katie box. But they choose to remain ignorant. Their loss.
