Well you said anyone, he couldn`t KO those three guys, I left Ali out because his chin was unusually solid.
He couldn't? Or didn't? There's a big difference, if Foreman at his best if he hits you on the chin full force, he can KO anyone.
That's a good one, but I would have shown the Golota fight. Golota had basically beaten the hell out of Bowe, and Lewis' ko was ample proof that at that time he could have beaten Big Daddy imo. I still think pre-Golota Bowe would have knocked the hell out of Lewis at the time, though.
I would rate Lewis power a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Foreman 10 Liston 10 Shavers 10 Weaver 10 Tyson 9 Louis 9 Frazier 8 Lyle 7 Quarry 7
Power is only relevant if you in the right position to throw it. Power is only relevant if you still have the gas tank to still have it. Power is only relevant if you still standing and ain't on your ass. Power is only a piece of the pie . Power for me is overrated. But you have to have boxed successfully to understand that. Gordon Garner amateur record 36-0 Badly broken hand In last fight ( I didnt know at the time ) had to take a year out , a year became 5 , had to earn a living , then it was too late... gone .. time beats ya.... just club fights as an amateur, but at least when ya done it , ya know !
Pretty good list-though I would not have Weaver that high, & as Foreman said of Lyle (one of 3 hardest punchers he ever faced), he would be at least a 9.
For power Mike Weaver I thought incredible. He carried it late as well. He could be lackluster letting his hands go. Weaver was limited as a fighter overall.
Leroy Boone, not exactly hard to hit, went the distance with Shavers less than a year after he detonated on Holmes Mark. He had been stopped twice before, one of them by Marty Monroe. Perhaps he didn't hit that hard at all? Quarry, Stallings 17-23-0 and stopped in two of his previous 3 fights, one against a guy 2-2, Peralta, Newton 19-10-5 and previously stopped multiple times and Lou Bailey 18-37-5 and stopped in his two bouts prior all lasted the distance in consecutive fights again Ron Lyle. Perhaps he was not a big hitter? It happens Mark. Tommy Hearns pounded on Luigi Minchillo for a 12 round shutout yet next fight obliterated one of the great chins (Roberto Duran Mark) with consummate ease. Ray Anderson was stopped in a single round by a 12-5-0 novice yet 4 fights later took prime Bob Foster 15 rounds. You place far too much tunnel visioned opinion on career snap shots among other things. This content is protected
This is a really cool list. I only have troubles putting Liston above Shavers for power...though Liston did have more power in the left. Interesting too, Weaver over Tyson and Frazier. I can't get over the sight of Weaver landing that perfect right on Coetzee (quite a few great heavyweights would have fallen from that). This content is protected
