I liked him when he had the ambition to try to beat Mayweather when very young and inexperienced. But then he had his catchweight queen phase. Plus dodgy decisions. Plus the Mexican beef excuses . Plus coming across very arrogant. Not surprising he is not popular.

Being probably the best amateur of all time kinda helps you get the boost. Canelo was fighting trolly boys for first 25-30 fights. Alot of his fights make wilder's resume look good.
