Who is greater at this point? Oscar DeLaHoya's career or Canelo's career now after Kovalev

Has Canelo managed to match Oscar's career? I don't think so, but some people might think so.

Weird thing.. if Oscar would have the same score treatment as Canelo he would have been undefeated meeting BHop..

Canelo is better. Oscar was a bigger star.

Canelo's drug scandal puts a grave twist in my eyes, at least, to his whole career.

Oscar did get the same treatment early in his career with Arum. He really loss or at least drew to Whitaker but he got the nod anyway and definitely robbed Ike Quartey.

While both have cases for a de lahoya loss but I do think majority of the public think Oscar won..
on the other hand, no matter how popular Canelo is, majority think he loss the GGG fight especially the first one..
Personally I think Oscar won the Whitaker fight.. and loss or draw with Quartey..

Oscar still has the better legit wins, or at least more of them, but he lost to many of his major competitors

Both guys had decisions go for them, while admittedly Oscar had a couple that went badly against him

Canelo has never looked like being stopped and the guy stood 24 rounds with GGG

Kovalev might not be the same guy from a few years ago, but stepping up two divisions is still impressive

It's tough who to pick, but I think I will go with Canelo

I think the guy is major underrated on here

Well Oscar did go 1-1 in superfights against the two biggest Welters of the 1990s.
From then on his signature win was against the limited Fernando Vargas, in a highly entertaining grudge match.
He also dropped 2 to Mosely who was at the top of his game.
So I have to give ODH an edge in that regard, that is taking on undefeated superastars in big superfights.

It's almost like people don't recall Oscar's career at all.

Taking out his MW foray, Oscar's career >>>>>>>> Canelo's career. Hell include the MW career, he took on an undefeated "prime" titlist, then the actual MW champion. "The man" at MW. He looked crappy vs. both but they weren't cherry picks. Below MW, Oscar took on "all" the top horses in the respective divisions he campaigned at, the only person that I can recall that he missed was Winky at JMW. (correct me if I'm wrong). He fought razor tight with a super Prime Mosley, razor tight with Quartey and won, razor tight with Tito and arguably won. One dodgy decision win vs. Sweet Pea. He has better wins, hell even in his losses he gave an excellent accounting of himself. Also, there was no stylistic matchup that he avoided, everyone is under his belt (brawlers, speedsters, power punchers, rangy guys, slicksters etc...). And he accomplished more with far less fights.

I think he and Sugar Ray Leonard have to be lauded for how their careers stand against the test of time with having no where near the number of fights as some of their contemporaries.

And this is coming from someone who wasn't necessarily an Oscar fan.

Oscar. Canelo's career is too controversial. Most of his wins reek of fraud a mile away.

DLH lost against his biggest challenges while Canelo has won against his.
I'd say Canelo is ahead of DLH already in the all-time rankings, which isn't saying much in my book
as I don't rate DLH alongside real greats like Duran and Chavez for example.
